1/16 = 6.25% difference. So go ride on the freeway at your normal speed, then add 6.25% to that to get what your RPM will be with the new sprocket. I'm not sure where you guys are getting a 1000 RPM gain from unless you're cruising at 16,000 rpm. I'd say a 500 RPM gain is a pretty good estimation.
