I have a 2004 R6 and i was wondering what the difference is between the two? I know the middle farring is different along with the rear liscense bracket but other than that i cant tell a difference
The person means HOW the front calipers physically bolt to the fork legs. Performance use radial. Old technology as in cost savings on a 2002 or newer model are not radial mounted. Has nothing to do with pad or rotor costs.
The entire caliper is able to slide laterally on its mount. Pretty much all cars are like that.
I thought it was curious that my R6S didn't have a slide-mount. Didn't know that was added with 3rd-Gen bikes.
Would likely help with reduce brake drag. (which has other implications speecifically for track use)
Thanks, I think I understand.
The 2nd Gen bolts insert from the side while the 3rd Gen inserts from the rear.
Dunno about the necro-posting. Maybe an email might bring back an old member though.
I wonder about some of them. Though, the posting back then seemed much less to-the-point and relevant versus what it is now.
