My 2008 R6 has run 19000 KM. I dont have any problems yet with its clutch. But i'd like to know if there is any OEM replacement clutch that i can go for once there is a need to change it.
I think the Yamaha OEM packs end up running $300+ whereas most aftermarket clutches only cost $200ish. I just went with an aftermarket clutch pack and didn't notice a big difference over stock.
When the clutch starts slipping. It's usually most obvious higher in the revs in 2nd gear. You'll get on the throttle hard, the revs will go up quickly, but the bike won't accelerate.
I have a complete clutch assembly that I had picked up that has like new miles as it was part of a fresh build where the owner put in an aftermarket yoyodyne slipper. Let me know if this is something that might be of interest.
Its been a couple years as its been sitting as part of my trackside spares box. I was told when it was given to me that the builder pulled it out of a new bike complete to throw in that aftermarket clutch assembly. I don't remember if the box said STM or Yoyo on it. They were doing a full tear down of the bike and just starting doing a full on build. Its all OEM. I will try and find it and get you some pics.
