Hey guys, I have a 2009 r6 that has been sitting for 5 years and only has 500 miles. I have changed the oil, fuel pump, fuel injectors, reset the ECU, and fuel injector sensors, and I go to turn on the bike and it starts but after 5 minutes it just shuts off again... Any idea on what it could be?
Are you paying attention to the engine's temp? It is not getting too hot is it? If it reaches a certain, preset temp, the bike will shutoff in an attempt to save the engine from a catastrophic failure.
I don't think it is a heating problem because I tried riding it on the street and then after a mile, it just shuts off. (temp gage is at a normal temp)
Maybe your gas tank is not venting. Try letting it idle with the cap open
