Which Steering Damper

Which steering dampers are you using on your R6? Linear damper or rotary damper? Scotts, Ohlins, GPR? Is one easier to install than the other?

Using the HyperPro. It works great but you have to be careful to make sure the spacing between the mount and the upper tripple tree is correct otherwise you'll have rubbing that causes a bind and makes the bike feel like it's going to fall over mid-corner.

A little overpriced IMO but I went with the Ohlins. I just prefer the linear over the rotary. If you can find one used and have it rebuilt that would be the best way as far as $ goes.

Re: Which Steering Damper

It's mostly what looks the best for you. The rotary dampers offer a little more crash resistance vs the linear. If you ride the track a lot the rotary may be the best choice.

Re: Which Steering Damper

I have the Ohlins linear damper on mine. It works well, but as Skeeter mentioned, it is more prone to damage in the event of a crash. I had one crash where the bike tumbled, resulting in the windscreen breaking off and brake fluid reservoir disconnecting. The damper was scratched, but luckily was still in good working order.

Re: Which Steering Damper

I've had my Ohlins on my R6 for about 3 years now or so. It's worked well and kept the front end planted and stable when coming out of tight corners from crazy lean angles at full throttle.

I love it. I'd repeat my purchase again if I had to go back in time and decide.

Chillin'... while the Lord watches over me!

I love my R6, but...there's no buts...

Re: Which Steering Damper

Ohlins, Scotts, Pitbull and GPR cant go wrong with any of those. The scotts i feel you have to drill and tap a hole to mount for the third gens but not 100% on that
