GoPro Camera Mount Locations

Just ordered a GoPro Hero 5 camera and had a few questions about mount locations. I want to start recording some frontal track footage through the windscreen using some sort of tank mount. Just wanted to know some of the spots you guys have mounted yours. I have a steering damper so I can't mount to tripple tree, and I have the GYTR gas cap cover so I don't think I can mount to gas cap. Can I mount it where I circled my tank cover? Any input is appreciated.

Best one out there...

Does the GoPro have the threaded hole in the bottom like regular cameras though?

Re: GoPro Camera Mount Locations

i dont recommend mounting it were you have the red circle, that would just look a little weird for my taste. i've seen plenty that mount to the gas cap bolt holes. i fabricated a camera mount on my left passenger peg this weekend and got my lean on a little too hard and broke my camera (white out on my LCD screen). next time i try, i'm putting it behind the windscreen.

I'll just have to play around with it once I get it. It comes with 8 different mount pieces. I might mount it to my helmet, seat cowl, or swingarm if I can't get it to work on the tank cover.

Re: GoPro Camera Mount Locations

I made this over the weekend. Had the camera mounted on the front fairing facing back. I'll take pics of the mount later. Heres the result though:

I like the gas cap mount, personally I wouldn't pay $90 for that, I'd just drill 3 holes and do it my self with a piece of aluminum.

06R6 One on race tail looking back , i put 1 rounded concave stickon just in front of gas cap on slope , turned 90 degreess perpendicular to bike and used the knuckle to get camera facing forward . Another flat one at front of tank on plastic part.

Re: GoPro Camera Mount Locations

I put mine on my front tire fender and it flew off at the track. Dont use the suction there. Use the 3m adhesive. Other than that, the mid left or right fairing can be good. Here is a little cruise with my girl on the back. It was mounted on the right mid fairing.

Click high quality for better results. Original is much better though.

Disco, do you have a slipper clutch? I thought I heard some REALLY fast downshifting in there... Nice vid though

I don't have one (yet) but this thread is subscribed.
