Re: EBAY: NEW Yamaha R7

For $45K I could get about 3 Ducati bikes. Clearly geared towards a collector.

Oh who will find me?
In your midnight eyes, I see a summer sunrise.
Fly far beyond these silver winter skies.
I see a beautiful life. Oh, come and get away.

Re: EBAY: NEW Yamaha R7

You can't even get it for 45 the reserve has not been met at 45, so he wants more.

I remember when these came out you needed a race resume to apply for ownership.

I seen one at Dayton speedway back in 2000 but there so bulky and big compared to todays standards.

i stick with my 07 R6

Re: EBAY: NEW Yamaha R7

The R7 is one of the most BADARSE bikes that yamaha ever made.

svldvc... BLASPHAMY i say ... BLASPHAMY.

By far one of the most rare bikes they made too. Only 1000 were imported into the states. SUPER HARD to get your hands on one. If I had some 50+K to blow, I'd throw it toward one of those bad boys.

Re: EBAY: NEW Yamaha R7

I love the R7. I posted the link because 1) they are rare and 2) it has ZERO miles. It is a sexy bike and graces a spot in my list of top 5 dream bikes.

Only 500 were ever made. They were built as a homologation special for WSBK and were about $40K new. Even then, they were a loss leader for Yamaha, and you couldn't get one without the proper race resume, or highend connection. At the very end of the season, Yamaha USA had about 4 of them available at around $24K. This was the best time to acquire one, if you were lucky and somewhat connected.

This bike has been listed before, but it was out of ebay.co.uk. I'm wondering why the guy shows a NC address now. I have a friend that is getting rid of his shortly. I hope that I have a chance to shoot it before he parts with it. Out of curiosity, what are your other 4 dream bikes?
