I just took the warning sticker off my gas tank. Any suggestions on what to use to remove the glue residue that was left behind? I have matte paint and don't want to use anything that will damage it.
I have some Goo Gone, I was just a little nervous about using it on the matte finish. Glad to hear you didn't have any problems. I'll give it a try, thanks
Everyone has a recommendation for their favorite adhesive residue remover. But honestly I find that different products work better/worse on different adhesives. I mostly use goof off, but sometimes wd-40, brake cleaner, isopropyl alcohol, or just windex works, depending on the sticker I just removed and surface it's on.
do not use goo gone!!!! denatured alcohol is the best option. thats what i used on my 2011 candy red and she looks perfect. the goo gone is to harsh in my opinion.
Thanks for the advice. I had Windex, alcohol and Goo Gone handy. Tried Windex first, nothing. Then try the alcohol, and it took it right off with no effort! Thanks again
I am with you Goof-off and goo gone are good, but you have to try out whatever you consider using as they all have pros and cons. Like with most things, trial and error are sometimes our best teachers.
Heat gun works well with some elbow grease and then a slight polish
