'Race' layouts are required by the ACU for twin caliper front brakes. Their regulations state that brake hoses should not be routed over the wheel, and specify that the lines must be joined above the top yoke. Our kits with 'Race' in the description have two lines from a double banjo at the master cylinder, with each line running to each caliper.

Thanks Jokester and Maxx, my friend works at a local BMW motorcycle dealership, soon as I saw it on the floor I knew I had to have it.

Must be a UK-only thing... All you've explained is direct routing. MotoGP, WSBK, WSS, and World Superstock (and other countries) also use a t-style fitting with a single line attached to the master cylinder.

I feel that way about certain Italian bikes... German bikes, not so much. Cool bike nonetheless...

The ACU is the Auto Cycle Union for GB. It is one of there rules for bikes.
Looks like it is a UK only thing.

14.22 BRAKES
For machines fitted with two front disc brakes, a split of the front brake lines for both front brake
calipers must be made at or above the lower fork.

So as you stated about the Moto GP using a T-Fitting is still acceptable its just need to be above the lower fork which I will assume it is. Since they do race here in the UK. I guess this is just HEL's set up for that regulation.
