Re: Hurricane sandy aftermath day 2

my neighbor's up there with centerpoint - he's a lineman. hoping y'all get back up and running relatively quickly. looks like the damage wasn't quite as severe as ike or katrina, but still devastating nonetheless. 'canes suck... but i'd still rather take that than a big earthquake. those things freak me out BIG TIME.

I hope he wasn't up by me bro. It's a straight up 10 degree difference from up here in the mountains to the shore. Last night it was 23 here.

We've started getting earthquakes here. We had one the other day in NJ that was like a 2.0 or something. And over the past year or two we've had a couple good ones. One the whole floor in the office shook. I grabbed the hottest chick near me and put her in the doorway.

Another time, It rumbled through my whole basement audibly like the furnace was rocking and rolling.

i dunno how you guys deal with it regularly and on such a larger scale.

Rookie. That doorway stuff is old school. The new hotness is getting under heavy furnitures and holding onto one of the legs. (I'm actually serious. They do earthquake preparedness stuff at work semi regularly, and that's what they say to do.)

In reality, if the ground is shaking hard enough to collapse the building you're in, there's no ****ing way you're going to be able to move around competently enough to get to a doorway or duck underneath some furniture.

It is however a great excuse to maul an attractive coworker when the little ones happen.

Nah bro. Don't sweat it. It's all talk. 20 mph wind tops. Barely any snow and I live in the mountains where we get inches when everyone else gets a flurry and showers.
