MAN I LOVE THAT TRACK!

Nice video. I've played around with levels a bit on on couple of videos.. Still new to the whole editing thing. Just trying to make enternaining videos as a new hobbie I guess. When the family sits and watches, they don't py attention to how fast I'm going, just the entertainment value. Kinda like a Hollywood movie. We know a 68 Charger can't jump a river and drive away, but the Duke's sure made it look cool!

Here's a little video I tried playing with the sound levels

Yeah, I don't blame you for wanting to put together something more interesting than just straight track footage. I try to upload only my fastest lap from any given track day if I'm just gonna do raw footage.

I really want to put together some more interesting stuff, alla Marcel Irnie:

But it takes a lot of forethought to make sure you get some interesting non-track time footage to mix in.

What editing software do you use? I use Premiere and it has a levels display that shows if the 'raw' volume levels are causing clipping (which they always are with the GoPro) and I dial them down so it's not maxing stuff out.

I use the free version of video pad right now. Still learning the program. It takes time to get it all together and edited. Like you said, forethought on off track video, getting good footage on track, and of course the time editing. The race footage I got from my gopro durring my nephews and my buddy's race sucked... lense was covered with mud right away so had to go with my shakey nikon footage.
I'll have to look into the "clipping" on the software I'm using and see if I can work on it. Thanks for the help.

Re: Track Video

Here's one I had put together with no music. Before using the LCD pack...
This is of my buddy and me running around Chuckwalla clockwise. I was pretty timid that day cause it was my first time back to the track since a lowside in turn 3 at big Willow.

Re: Track Video

Are you using the little rubber doo-dad that fits into the GoPro clip? If you haven't you should also lay down a layer of masking tape in the mount - it'll help with the occasional clacking you get and take out a little of the camera shake. Generally sounds pretty good though.

FWIW, you're lapping way faster than I do out there.

Re: Track Video

^^^

Yeah, I use a rubber every time, unless it's with my girlfriend!

I will try the tape idea. And, I'm the slow guy with the black suit...I think you were seeing my buddy running the fast laps. LOL.

How do you get the camera to be so stable on the tail? I tried it at big willow and it was like watching an epileptic fit. I was using the suction cup zip tied under the seat just in case lol

Re: Track Video

Heh, may be. The dude in the red suit at the end was the only full lap - and was somewhere around 2:16. I ran 2:26s last time out ... CCW.
