Costas, Gun Control, Murder Suicides, and Sunday Night Football
Okay, so NBC execs can go and sodomize each other with splintered bats for running that little Bob Costas rant on gun control in the wake of the Belcher murder suicide in Kansas City. Classless sensationalism, extremely poor taste, and pushing a political agenda seemingly devoid of morals. Not only is Sunday Night Football not the place for a sports commentator (read not new anchor) to push a political agenda. I didnt realize the NFL had a stance on gun control.
And the claims are patently sensational and overly false. There are MANY situations where handguns have saved lives and could have saved more. I can also say that I have a wife, so I know what anger is, and in my most heated moment, I've never thought about actually shooting her. Some motherfcukers are crazy. They have plenty of bullshit terms and explanations these days, but when I grew up, you didnt hang out with Crazy Johnny because Crazy Johnny was fcuking crazy. You didnt need a term for it, you didnt need an explanation, you knew something was wrong with the guy and he had issues he needed repaired. And sometimes crazy people just get themselves. Sometimes they strangle their girlfriend, cut her up, and burn her body in a backyard firepit over the course of a few days. Sometimes they convince multiple others to drink the poisoned KoolAid. Should be outlaw KoolAid? Maybe we should send out a flyer to everyone that says they shouldnt strangle people.
Costas, you have found a reason to further degrade my already low opinion of you, your stupid touchy feeling stories, and your sub par announcing. Go commentate on some shuffleboard matches and leave the politics to elected officials. Rest assured, I won't waste a bullet to save you from some aggressors. You can put your faith in the world, I'll put mine in centerfired rounds and good aim.
What do you all think?
