the Measurements I took
are from the rear axle to a point on my tail.
558mm fully extended topped out, Bike on Foot Peg Stands so the wheel is not touching the ground.
bike on the ground without rider 557mm
and 555mm with rider on the bike
the ohlins Spring I have is the 1093-31/95 and should be the right one for me.
175lbs street clothes 183lbs with full gear.
When I back off the preload adjuster all the way nothing happens, but if I turn it in it's as stiff as a board.
Could this be a issue? No installed Preload? My spring not installed is 150mm and installed is also 150mm. Should I have 10mm installed Preload?
Also I have 2 of the Ohlins ride height shims so that equals 5mm+
Your sag numbers are exactly where I want to be. 30-35mm of rider sag and free sag. 5-10 mm but don't know how to get there from the numbers I have now.
That spring should work well for you.
Although I'm not quite following the sag measurements you took. The R6 handles well between 30-35mm of rider sag. Shoot for something in that range, and THEN check for free sag. Should be between 5-10 mm optimally if the spring is in the correct rate range. But that model shock is one of the best in my opinion, and will offer you a good range of adjustment (sag aside due to the hydraulic preload adjuster).
