Hi all,
I have the Yamaha R6 2007. Went to months ago to Pannonia Ring track(Hungary) for some track days.
As i'm no suspension expert so i asked a local rider/mechanic to set my suspension for the track.
I'm 6 feet (182cm) and 77kgs.
He set the bike like this:
Front preload = 1 line showing (standard)
Front ride height = standard
Front low speed comp = 6 clicks (10 clicks standard)
FRont high speed comp = standard
Front rebound 10 clicks (15 clicks standard)
Rear preload = pos 2 from full soft (pos4 standard)
Rear ride height +5mm shim for the rear shock
Rear rebound 6 clicks (10 clicks standard)
Rear high speed comp 9 clicks (7 clicks standard)
Rear low speed comp 9 clicks (15 clicks standard)
Bike fell very stable with the setup but was going a little wide at corner exit. That;s why he put a 5mm shim at the back. everything was perfect afterwards...
I returned home, installed the standard dunlop qualifier tyres set standard tyre pressure (i was running on Metzler k2 slicks medium at the track with 2.0front 1.9rear)
i noticed on short turns front tends to tuck under and rear seams like slipping.
This happens mostly on tight low speed corners (local gokart track we usually ride)
Is this normal?
Has anyone experiences problems with the rear ride heigh increase??
Can you peoples suggest some suspension settings for my R6?
What do you guys run (track / road)
Any advice is welcome!!!
