how often should you replace spark plugs?

i know on cars you can use your spark plugs up to 60k -80k miles. but should motorcycle spark plugs be changed more often? mine has 32k miles on the bike. not too sure previous owner changed the spark plugs. thanks.

02 misfire

Hi people have an 02 thats been running great given me no trouble but now it seems to have developed a miss fire . i have noticed that it is really evident when riding along with the engine doing between 3 to 4 thou revs . when i wind it up more it seems to be allright and pulls like a train it only seems to be on very small throtle opening. (its same in every gear) could it be a plug issue or maybe one or more coils breaking down ? is it possible that the exsiter might be the problem of could it be a fuel issue as it seems to be allright with more throtle applied or is the just being masked by the increase in revs . any advice in heading in the right direction would be great ( should mention that i say misfire but it really feels like bike is cutting out for a fraction of a second then coming back on line )

Re: how often should you replace spark plugs?

^^^ +1, the CR9 is a hotter plug and you really dont need to run a hotter plug unless you have some internal mods that require it, plus summer is coming up and its best to try to keep things as cool as possible, even though running a colder plug wont reduce overall heat by much, but every little bit counts...

Clean your carbs. The pilot jets are probably clogged a bit
