Low Idle and Dies :(

I am having trouble with my 2006 R6. On a cold startup its getting a really low idle, by low i mean 500rpm. So I give the throttle a twist and the bike isnt recognising that i have cracked the throttle and it will hold the revs there at around 500rpm but they will not increase. But if I release the throttle the bike will die. This isnt happening everytime I start the bike in the mornings but it is happening more often. Usually it will only do this once and the second time it will be fine, but this morning it took 5 or 6 times before the throttle would do anything to the engine revs. Also I have only put a BMC Air Filter and a Jardine GP1 exhaust that is all the mods that are done to the bike and it has 30000kms on it.

check your tps

2007 Yamaha R6- Its got some goodies.

You probably need to retune the fuel map on the bike. If you don't have a fuel management system and you're running the BMC and Jardine, that could be your issue.

Is it cold in the mornings? And is it getting colder where you live like it is here (winter coming soon)? If so, that would indicate that it's lean, and in the AM it gets leaner from the cold, and the throttle bodies aren't hot enough to warm the intake air to the point where it richens up the mixture a bit..

Probably a noob question, but how do I check the TPS? Do I go through the diagnostic mode on the bike?

On the note of fuel management, I do believe that this may have part to do with it but also at the same time I dont think that this is the problem as these have been on the bike for about 4 months now and it only made the idle slighty lumpier as if there was a lumpy cam in the bike when cold. But no its not that cold over here right now we have started spring and the weather is getting hotter but in the mornings generally is around 14C. And yes it is only in the AM that its doing this.
