I had this issue last week, your sir are at the fun part.

In the picture i attached, you will literally have to go UNDER the carb where the arrows are pointing. There are some VERY small allen wrench bolt about where the circles are. The arrows are where you will enter from with your allen wrench, and the circle is where youll unscrew at. Get a bright light, because they are small. It is a very painful task. But the screws are under it. Took me forever to realize where they were, but im sure you will see them.

The screws that are easily visible are the sync adjustment screws. It's nearly impossible to see the screws on the boots that are below the carbs

The 02 thread Shush linked is mine and has some helpful pics in there.

Am I the only one that can't easily see these carb sync adjustments screws? Are they attached to the butterfly valves?

They are in between the carbs on tha shaft that is attached to the buttefly valves. There is a spring on the screw (sort of). Usually there is also a paint mark on them from the factory to show whether it's been adjusted or not.

I can see them but I can't see the head of the screw unless I rotate the throttle to open the valves a bit. How does Yamaha expect us to sync at idle if you can't even get a screwdriver on without twisting the throttle!?

to the original poster - SORRY for changing subjects for a bit!!

I think that yamaha might make a weird screw driver for this!
