Installing BNIB fuel tank, any cleaning steps required?

Hey guys,

Ill be replacing my current tank with an oem tank. I will be swapping over the gas cap and fuel pump from current tank to the new tank. My question is, do i need to prep the new tank in any way? Sealer/cleaner?
Or can i just pop the pump and cap on, plug it in and fill'er up with gas?

Dented gas tank with HT moto grip. Kleen air mod. GPR V1 steering damper. Brembo RCS 19. SS brake lines. BMC air filter. ATC adjustable clip ons. Brembo 16x18 HB. 05 R1 front forks. 06 FZ-6 rear rotor. NGK plugs. DCP radiator cage. LP gas cap. Secondary radiator fan switch setup. HT Moto Rear Seat. Leo Vince CBR 250 exhaust. Naarden shark fin. 14/54t 520 gearing. Intergrated rear turn signals. Engine Ice. Shaved wind screen.

I read somewhere that a guy installed the tank without cleaning it first and the bike ran like shit. Im just curious if factory would send out tanks that need a good cleaning before install. Anyone have any experience?

You'll need to clean your pants when you throw it on there and see how pretty a brand new tank looks!
