Want some recommendations for storaging track bikes. What do guys do? Track days over here are once a month and now that the bike is not street legal I can't just go around riding it. What should I do to maintain the bike in between track days every 30 days? I have a better tender on it. Should I leave it on the kick stand or do I need a pit stand so the wheels don't get flat spots? Should I change any fluids like oil every month?
Start a log book. Write the dates & or mileage of what you did.
WIll make your bike worth lots more upon resale. Also give you a
handy reference of what you've done to the bike.
If youre not doing oil analysis... then youre kinda flying blind on service intervals.
Everyone should do the logbook regardless how often they ride. Taking bike out once a month only needs an Optimate to keep the battery in good health. Otherwise, just park it. Always looks good on a bike stand but no necessary.
I use the time between track days to clean it up, change oil when needed, check things for tightness, etc. Nothing special. I start it up every week or two.
always drain race fuel. (just check with the company that makes what you use. most require it to be drained) run it till the engine quits
