I hear the same... and my personal conclusion, is to be grand ma for the 1,000 miles. Even better, if you can have a iron butt long ride for the 1,000 miles and have it over. Always will be better to break in in a continous highway riding that in the downtown stops...
^^^ Why would they know? They have zero credentials except a website. So you are saying that they know more than the manufacture that engineered the bike? If anybody would know I think that YAMAHA would. Follow the book, you cant go wrong if you do they will warranty it! I've never had to warranty a bike because someone rode it too easy during breakin(rolleyes), on the other hand I HAVE had to rebuild plenty of trashed engines with spun bearings and cylinder/piston damage from a cold seizure or hot spot from running it too HARD! You do the math.

I know people disagree about almost everything when it comes to engine breakin, but i have never, EVER heard of anyone say that running a constant RPM on the highway is a good idea. Actually you want the downtown stops because it varies your RPMs and allows the rings to seat fully in every type of condition.

Right because Yamaha has the best in mind for us :BS .... And just FYI their (Moto Tune) a nationally recognized automotive corp. And if you actually read the article it states to let the motor heat up to operating temperature before your break it in, and to not keep it in the upper RPM's during break-in. :dunce:
Haha! Every end of the spectrum here! Break it in on you local tuner's dyno. If they know what they are doing you might even gain a horse. Better yet you get all the b.s. out of the way before you log your first mile on your bike!! It worked for me, your results may vary. :beerchug
Wow, I Alot Of Comments On This One! Well Thanks, Kinda Of Confused- But I Really Dont Get On It But I Dont Really Baby It, I Have 220 Miles On Her, So Taking What Everyone Says And Mixing Them With What I Have Already Been Doing- I Think My 50th Will Be Fine. Thanks Guys.
