Helmet - Looking for something DOT and SNELL rated. At the moment I have my eye on the Shoei RF-1100 but is it really worth $300 more than, say, a SNELL rated HJC helmet?
Jacket - I like the look and idea of the bionic armor jackets, but from the looks of it don't provide much protection if you're sliding across the pavement. What options do I have out there that gave armor in the jacket but will also protect my skin in the event of a slide across pavement? Most of all though, won't make me feel like I'm in an oven when it's warm out.
Gloves - I figured the regular gloves provide no protection at all. I've been looking at the longer padded gloves, but don't want something that's bulky and uncomfortable.
Boots - Haven't looked much into them, but I really like the regular boots that go up to your ankles, might even look into some with shin protection.
Pants - This one has been bugging me. The full leather pants with padding are nice but seem like they would get uncomfortable, hot, and obtrusive on a short commute from home to work. What else is out there that would give you better protection than jeans but still basically be like jeans?
Just basically looking for everyone's opinion/advice and maybe some information on the best place to buy it from. From my experience it sucks buying stuff like this through the internet because you can't try it on but in most cases it saves you a bunch of money...
Thanks in advance.
