I have a pair of dainese torque out boots, and they're kinda big on my feet so I'm in the market for a new pair. How do the sidi boots compare to the dainese?
Thanks
I can't speak on behalf of dainese boots, but i do have the sidi vortice air boots.
I wear a US size 11 for sneakers and got the sidi boots in the same size. They're a perfect fit. My toes reach the end and I can feel my heels touching the rear of the boot.
i only wear SIDI boots.. love em. MAG1 as i didn't like the buckling system on the vortice , and the ST didn't feel "right" .. hard to explain, but i figured that would be an easy boot to get in, and it is, but i couldn't get comfortable on the bike in them. Sold em after 1 weekend.
the MAG1 is not cheap, but love it. the twist buckles are easy in/easy out.. and i feel very comfortable on the bike. Already "crash tested" em too. zero issues.
as someone posted above, fit is pretty true. i have raced in sidi (on and offroad) for 13 years, and i will say they run a HAIR larger than they did 8-10 years ago.
I'll probably give the sidi a try. I've seen a lot of people with them. They look good. Do they have a tensioner inside of the boot that tightens down to your foot?
Ended up going with these. View attachment 276793
I got the "air" version because on a hot day I feel like my feet are on fire mid session so hopefully this clears that up.
I will confirm, the mag 1 are absolutely kick ass. I will say they are a little bit more bulky then the dainese, but not much. The exterior tightening system(like a Mx boot) is exactly what I wanted from my first set of dainese boots. It's such a hassle to use that stupid strap on the inside of the boot to tighten down the boot to your leg. Then getting it back off is a whole other problem. They were nice boots, but the SIDI is far superior in my opinion. They are pretty stiff right now but they'll soften up. Plus these boots like bad ass. The air version also has a little vent on the toe part. ?? for the sidi boots.
Crash tested them two weekends in a row. Ground off some of the latches. The crash well lol. As far as comfort, the are pretty stiff around the toe area. I'm hoping they free up a little bit over time. Overall I like them. The perforated version rocks. Especially the toe vents
New to the moto world, but I ended up getting some Sidi Vortice airs. The biggest reason? I've been wearing Sidi road cycling shoes for a long time and they kick ass (currently Sidi Wires). Turns out the Vortice fits true to size from my road shoes and, once broken in a bit, are super comfy and functional. My friend, who's easing me into the motorcycling stuff and raced road (cycling) for a long time loves his Mag1s.
I tried some A* supertechs, but my foot felt like it was swimming in them. Very high volume. Sidis are good if you have a lower volume foot. Note: that doesn't necessarily mean narrow, flatter feet can be low volume while being normal width.
