price hike in tires?

tires are noticeably higher in socal. I would say +20%, anyone else experiencing higher price on tires? should i wait it out until gas prices are lower? im guessing maybe this is why tires are more expensive?

Well, if you are trying to buy from a dealer or something (like Berts) yeah...

Just hit up one of our vendors....

Indeed - 20% higher compared to what? Retail prices on tires are way higher compared to online warehouse type places. Buying online is definitely the way to go. Anyplace worthwhile has free shipping and no tax, but lower prices to start with.

I've heard from 2 tire companies, and both of them told me there will be no change in the tire prices for next year....

Re: price hike in tires?

not for street, but for you trackday/racer folks, TRY to support your trackside vendors from time to time. They are there to help you, trackside. And if you get tires from a trackside vendor, they usually will mount/balance em for you.. they certainly won't m/b tires you got from an online store
That, and they will offer setup advice, psi recommendations, etc.
Just saying. If you run more than 1 set of tires a weekend at the track, get a set from your trackside vendor..
