Custom Studded Tires For Winter

Ahhh, winter is finally here. Time to take a bunch of drywall screws and bicycle tube patches and **** up an old track tire to see if we can't get some subzero traction. I know it's been done before but this time I've got an extra large crack pipe for inspiration. And when this whole idea tanks, I have a snowmobile. Probably should have taken that into consideration before I started drilling holes in the tire.

In all seriousness, has anyone had at least mediocre luck with studded tires and sport bikes? I've seen 'em for sale online and that video of the french guy racing a porche on a frozen lake at negative 25c was pretty boss. Just wanna know if it's worth it at least for laughs.

Dont waste your time with drywall screws. They have screws meant for ice.

So you're advocating the diy method? As if I need any more encouragement.

Oh my god, my winter just got $250 dollars richer. I am so getting a pair. Who thinks I could pull a kia out of the snow on an 05 r6?

Yup. Ice fishing and riding on the lake from hole to hole.

Done and done.

Even have an extra set of fcked up tires laying around.

Some bolts, nuts, washers and an angle grinder, and it's show time.

If anyone needs one, I have an extra hole cutter used for installing spikes on sled tracks. Just fits in your drill.
