How could that happen? my back has 5-7mm left of strip on the left side.. but my front has only 2-3mm left... first time i see that! usualy, the front has at least 50% more strip left then the rear... what could have caused that? im too hard on the front?
thats what i feel, beeing too hard on the front.. when i practice cornering in a parking lot, i tend to get the bike straight (after leaning) pretty fast...
33psi front 34 rear stock d208
ill get my rebound/compression adjusted a bit better soon.. front SAG is ok, rear LOOKS ok
you mean more wear on the front than rear... so you think i should put more weight on the front wheel? i dont get it... 33 front 34 rear psi. i think i have to set my suspension rebound/compression a bit better..
Its just the difference in the profiles of the tires. I know on the michelin race tires you can barely hit the edge of the front but the edge of the rear is destroyed.
Normally your front tire psi is a pound or two higher than the rear. I don't know if this is a factor in what you are seeing but it's a geneal rule of thumb.
for track use or street? i use it for street and i keep the rear a bit higher because i mount a passenger 1/3rd of the time. and for long rides i put around 40psi in the rear (when 42 is recommended for the weight )
I your original post you said that you have 1mm left on the REAR and 2mm left on the front. You may have worded that wrong, but that to me means that your rear has more wear than the front.
When i went to deals gap just a few weeks ago, i noticed a similar wear pattern. I do believe this is from going into turn at a declerating speed, and maintianing a speed through the turn. My friend who rode with me has a different style of riding than me and was hard on the brakes prior to the turn and harder throughout the turn, whereas i stated i throttled down into the turn....decelerating into the turn and maintained a speed throughout (my speed into and through the speed was higher) whereas my buddies speed was quicker upto the turn, then slowing hard with the brakes then regaining speed mid turn.
His wear was not as far over into the front tire is mine was, but his back tire was scrubbed out just a hair closer to the edge than mine was.
Its just the difference in the profiles of the tires. I know on the michelin race tires you can barely hit the edge of the front but the edge of the rear is destroyed.
do you use michelins? theyre the only tire i run and i have no problem going edge to edge on the Pilot power or power races.....and why is the rear destroyed? i tore my tire from cold tear/ rebound but once i got it figured out it was wearing fine.
