opinions on a good seat?mnealp33 08-05-2004, 03:24 PM I was wondering if anyone had a Corbin seat on there bike and is it worth the price? Ed 08-05-2004, 04:20 PM Corbins are nice seats. I'm not sure how much they are since I never bought one, but the stock seat on an R6 is pretty good. You don't like the R6 seat?
If I had a Honda RR, I'd get a corbin though because those Honda stock seats are horrible. Like a wooden plank... trbo823 08-05-2004, 11:46 PM corbin seats are really comfy..worth the money dianaspicer 08-27-2004, 10:12 AM Does anyone know how thick this seat is?
I have my 6 lowered 3" in the back and I can not touch flat. dianaspicer 08-27-2004, 10:22 AM sorry about the double post JL 08-27-2004, 01:52 PM Does anyone know how thick this seat is?

damn you are tiny. they are custom, corbin will make it however you want. they are $$ and I have heard mixed reviews on their customer service. dianaspicer 08-30-2004, 12:41 PM Thanks, I decided that I will tuff it out with the stock seat. I was looking at it this weekend and the stock seat is pretty thick close to the tank, which is where I sit.
I thought that my ass was big enough to offer some cushion, but I gues not :hammer Ed 08-30-2004, 01:02 PM I can't get my feet flat on the ground, but I've managed alright. You get used to it after a while. nycR6 08-31-2004, 05:51 PM IMHO, Corbin's suck...
I had one on my '01 R6 and it was less comfortable than the stock seat. Also corbin's use a steel seat pan so the thing weighs a ton.
I'd recommend sending in your seat to Sargent's to have it reupholstered for you. I had mine done for about $225 and it's extremely comfortable for those 250+ mile days.
YMMV DreR6 08-31-2004, 06:46 PM ED wrote:

I so agree, i rode my cousins RR and I would have rather sat on a seat of spikes then ride on that seat. :hammer Spoon 08-31-2004, 08:34 PM Does anyone know how thick this seat is?

Just curious, what's your inseam?
You can shave some of the padding if you need some more lowering. You can also get better padding for comfort. cordodor 09-01-2004, 10:14 AM NYC, did Sargents use some new super foam when they did your seat? I can't see how reupholstering it would cause it to become that much more comfortable...
I too am looking for a more comfortable seat. It's the only thing keeping me from going on those 300mile rides to Seattle... raiazzi 03-07-2005, 01:20 PM I am looking at getting a Corbin seat for those long rides on my 04 R6. My Problem is that I only have a 30" inseam. It would be great if the Corbin is a lower profile seat than stock...maybe I could flat foot it. If it raises me, however, I will not get a Corbin. Does anyone have any experience with this? I would really like to know which is a lower profile seat (stock or Corbin) before I spend $250!!!! Maybe I didn't look close enough on their website, but I don't see where it says that Corbin makes customer thicknesses n their seats...please help. | |
