Hi,
I have an early R6 (5EB) front end fitted to my FZ750 which I race in the Thunderbike UK series. The internals seem to have been modified - each leg only takes 400ml, rather than the manual specified 476ml to achieve the specified air gap of 107mm with springs out and slider fully compressed - possibly because the bump stop has been changed?
Also, the threaded portion of the damper rod is shorter than indicated in the manual - the manual says the top of the lock nut should be 25mm down from the end of the rod, but my rods only have about 20mm of thread and the top of the nut needs to be about 12mm down to get the rebound adjusters moving through the full 10 clicks.
Does anyone recognise these differences? If they're aftermarket internals or if it's a recognised mod, is there any difference in the recommended air gap etc.?
Thanks,
Gavin
