: PASS button?
jackall 10-01-2004, 07:15 AM Hi guys, this is probably (no surely) a stupid question but since I don't have my bike that long (00' R6) and don't have a manual I'm hoping someone can tell me..
On your left side (steer) there is some kind of button >> PASS
Can someone explain me what it's for? :hammer
Thanks
NoLegs 10-01-2004, 07:26 AM While you're driving down the road, hit that button, your headlights should flash. It lets people in front of you know you are going to pass. Mostly a European thing, people in the states will run over you no matter what you do.
jackall 10-01-2004, 07:41 AM Thanks m8 :cheers
oliverclothesov 10-01-2004, 11:13 AM ummmmmmmmmm, pass button, WHAT?! i dont have a pass button. probably right that it is a foreign thing. also agree that pretty much anyone over here will run over ya no matter what you do. :cuss

ya, I 3rd that statement...... @ssholes in their SUV's that ever leave the pavment.... But they need a 5000 lbs 350 HP SUV to pick up their 2 kids and get some food on the way home.....
MayhemFerNie 10-01-2004, 06:11 PM I use my pass button while riding to work, the 110 here towards downtown is hella busy, when Im going to work. It just flickers your high beam when you press on it.
loki1313 10-02-2004, 09:49 AM nifty, a pass button, i dont have one but since i ride with my highs on i dont have to much trouble around here
TexasR6 10-03-2004, 08:36 AM Can someone post a pic of this pass button please?
Never seen one. Are they only on Euro models?
RedlineR6 10-03-2004, 05:00 PM When was the last time you've seen a Suzuki!! :moon
The yellow finger trigger switch on the left side is the pass button.
And yes, it's a euro thing on the R6
R6nutter6 10-04-2004, 07:23 AM I have a pass button on my 2000 UK R6.Its legal function in the UK is to make the Highbeam come on when you press the button so you can let other motorists know you are there.
Just incase they're asleep, making a call on the mobile phone, messing with their car stereo, doing their hair or any other thing inconsiderate people do when they're driving.
I tend to use it when someone is hogging the fastlane in front of me,flashing them while I'm thinking MOVE OVER YOU WANKER!!! :cuss
Drooder 10-11-2004, 09:54 PM Yea, its such a Euro thing...... my bike doesn't have it.. but the 2004 Suzukis do......
r6boater 10-12-2004, 12:23 AM :ot but, i saw a show on speed tonite that said th UK was #1 in the world for problems with road rage. Maybe thats why they have them. :?:
BE4TNUT 10-12-2004, 10:04 AM Anyone think of taking and wiring one up into the 6? I like the idea alot, good safety feature. Now I think I am going to look into it and wire one up into my bike... Got me thinking now...

DreR6 10-12-2004, 10:11 AM LIke RedLine said, Ive only seen them on the Suzuki's.
Z28ridah 10-12-2004, 02:26 PM something like that for the rear would be nice as well...something to flash a bright light in the face of the jerk who thinks its okay to ride three feet off your rear tire...
Or maybe a flamethrower kit would work... :hammer
DreR6 10-12-2004, 08:24 PM yea i dont get that with cagers, they drive really close on my back tire. I sometimes think thay want to be behind me really close so they can see the bike better and how it moves because I sometimes do the same when im in my car and i see a bike. But I dont get close like some of these other drivers. I stay me distance.
JJSCOTT2 10-13-2004, 11:18 AM I'm surprised you have tailgating problems with the D&D, rev it up, they'll back off or become permanantly deaf. It can also double as a flamethrower if you rig it up right.

I get hassle all the time off car drivers over here. They seem to think that you have no right to be on the road.I passed one guy a couple of months back filtering through traffic on a country road.At first he tried to speed up to stop me from getting back in,but there's no way he's gonna out accelerate the 6.Then when I pulled into the gap, without cutting him up,he was on the horn, calling me a wanker, flashing his lights.
I looked back at him and gave him the bird, but he was still ranting at me so I did an emergency stop.He shit his pants and didn't even try passing me after that,or ride on the back tyre of my 6.I wanted him to pull over so I could 'talk' to the old git,but he turned off at the earliest opportunity without indicating.
****ing tosspot :cuss :moon
R6DUDE 12-17-2004, 08:48 PM ya maybe an extra fuel injector with a spark plug on the end of a slipon.
