: removing tamper resistant screws on lock mechanism

i am attempting to do the tail conversion on my 00. i have ran into a slight road block of trying to remove the lock mechanism for rear seat release under the front seat on the left side. the tamper resistant screw looks to be a hex or torque bit BUT there is a small post in the middle of the screw that does not allow a normal bit to fit into the slot to turn the bolt. basically it looks like i need a bit that has hole in the middle of it. i am sure it is a good willed effort on the part of yamaha to manufacture something like this but a bitch on my part to remove this peice which i sure was the intended purpose to deter theft.

i was thinking on drilling a hole in an existing bit that i have to get this done but before i did that i was wondering if anyone had any other methods. thanks

if so, you can buy the bit at pretty much any place that sells tools.

I bet it is.... Just go buy one of the bits... I would think that a Home Depot/Lowes/ home imporvement store maybe even an autoparts store would have them.... You can buy a whole security bit set for $12.50 (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=360-206)
