Sounds stupid I know. Trying to remove the large nut that bolts the kickstand on and it got majorly stripped on the outside. Took a dremel to it and more than half of the nut is now gone and I still cannot get it off despite hammer and chisel or vice-grips. I put a socket wrench to the bolt in the back and felt it turning, but when looking at the front the bolt doesn't actually turn.
What's the deal with this bolt and nut or am I just plain unlucky here and it should have come off easily?
Here's a pic of me busting a nut. :sing

i stripped mine too, and i welded a cut-off alan wrench to it, then used a ratchet to back it out. bought new bolts at lowes in their metric drawers. worked fine. good luck (disconnect the ecu and batter JUST in case).

Standard Craftsman socket wrench. The nut got soft I guess.

Perhaps if I could weld, but I can't so... will try my propane torch, hopefully that'll loosen it up enough to twist off.

Unused a torch before invrikendiwn and had a buddy weld for me. :( didn't work. Hope it does for you though - I loved that Alan wrench. Haha

Got the nut and kickstand removed today since I had some free time finally. Wound up using a dremel to cut through the entire bottom portion of the nut then used a hammer and chisel to pry it off. What a bastard that nut was. The bolt is a mangled mess as well, so will need to replace that if I ever want to put the kickstand back on. My Pit Bull stands are heavily relied upon now!
I then did the kickstand electrical mod to jump the wiring to that I can run the bike in gear, all is good now.
