Hey guys! I was on the freeway exiting to the off ramp in an unfimiliar area when i hit this pothole! I was at about 60mph. GOt a good shake from it, bouced me off the seat. I am just happy not to have lost it! But i pulled up to the light, pissed because of how stupid i was to not have seen that... anyway... i park and take a look at the damage. I bent both wheels. now my question is. anyone here have rims that were repaired from being bent? Or should i just look for a new set? Im on a buget and the sound of a new set of wheels @ $500+ isnt looking so good. Let me know your experiences riding on repaired wheels! Thanks guys!

Dude I'd be takin a picture of that pot hole and the damage it did to your rims and file a complaint with the city and they should pay for the damage done to your vehicle....It may take a while but you SHOULD get paid for this....

Dizamn....Did you crap your pants?! I would have. Thats nuts. Glad to hear you're ok. I'd just check ebay like everyone says. You'd be suprised the deals you find on there. I found these custom leather crotch rocket jackets for 30 bucks shipped. I didn't get one because i love the jacket i have now but there's always all types of deals.

i filed a complaint against the city. The guy handling the paperwork said to fill out a form and they will inspect the road and get back to me within 10 days. I went over to Yamaha and got a quote for 2 wheels, front forks and labor... it ended up being over $1,800 !!!! Hopefully i will get paid and get this fixed.

Just to let you know here in Michigan, you can report the pothole to the city and tell them that you bent your rim, take the bike there and have someone inspect it and they will buy you new ones. I did this to my old 3000gt vr4 about a year ago. I would try that. If that doesn't work in your state then i have a front rim, just pm me.

I'll sell you my both my wheels for $565 shipped. there is a small chip on both but they are structurally stable and round.

includes stock sprocket/rotors, and i'll throw in my 1 season old dunlops.
