Well July is over, congrats again to imaking20 for the win. Now that Aug is among us it's time to start submitting again. I'm sure most know the rules but here's a quick recap.

1. You can not submit if you've won in the last year.
2. If you submitted and didn't win you have to wait a month to compete again. Ex. If you submitted in June and didn't win you have to wait until August to try again.
3. Post 4 of your best pics with a list of all performance and cosmetic mods you have done.
4. Voting starts on the 20th or after 10 entries, whichever comes first.

Please take a look at past ROTM contest for ideas on how to enter your bike. Bike does not have to be an R6, you just have to be a member of the forum.

There are only a few places that make all those pieces for that year R6. My guess would be Bestemusa or Crownmotousa. I had cf from both companies on my R6.

I found the bike on craigslist and decided it was worth saving. I went through the micro fiches and replaced every missing peice. Every nut, bolt, fastener, foam pad etc, is the correct peice. Took a while to do but it was worth it. Found the body work on fleabay for $500 with zero miles on it from a shop who built a race bike :toocool: I could only find a black tank though. So I repainted it and the tank cover to match. The bike had 1200 miles on it when I got it. Sadly I've only put another 600 miles on it so far because of school and family obligations. That will all change in a couple weeks. Its currently off with my engine builder getting a few more ponies added. :D

Bought this whore new in July 08. Overpaid. Took it home and stripped a bunch of shit off, took it to the track at 600 miles. Its had three different slip ons, then went without, then got its crashed pipe. Its been fed all kinds of gas, been to a few states and tracks, been down the strip, through the rain, and even down on its side. Its been overpiped and under fuel managed, used, abused, and neglected. It needs a set of tires, brake pads, and a chain kit. Its gay yellow so I had to get race glass to remedy that. The suspension is stiff as fcuk and beats me to death every time I ride it, the bars are low, and the engine heat to my satchel is a little more than any man should have to endure on a 100* day....

All that aside, it still gives me a raging semi every time I see it in the garage, every time I eclipse 10k on the way to the nirvana of a 16.5k redline, every time I dig deep in a corner or push my luck on the low side of an off camber trying to get around that dude on the gsxrcbrzxwhatthefcukever, every time I come sliding in to the turn by my house thats darker than Jamal after a week in the carribbean sun.... So yeah, I fcuking love this bike, even if my 01 was nicer and cleaner...and the zx6r in my garage clowns it. Those bikes, while nice, do not provide the sexually soulful excitement of my 08. Yamaha, you did bad, but motherfcuker did you do good...:laugh

Well, I get kinda tired of all these BOTM posts where people talk about how awesome and perfect their bike is when we all know the little issues with each of our bikes, and we all know none of them are truly perfect. The rest of my shit is clean, tasteful, and well taken care of. Notice I didnt say it was dirty, or the engine was being neglected. In 11k miles Ive changed oil 13 times now, flushed the coolant 3 times, the brake fluid 3 times. How many other ROTM bikes this month have had that done? Yeah... Being real aint the same as leaving your shit leaned up next to a barn for years....:laugh

True, but Im also on a mission showing that you dont need a stupid fuel manager to run a full system and a filter... 4k miles now and no issues what so ever.

Same deal with my 05 gixxer. Hell, that thing was header only most times, and at one point had literally 5 different types of pump and race gas in it... It spent MILES on the limiter, did MILES of burnouts, and MILES of wheelies. I was absolutely impressed at just how tough that thing was and it was still running strong when I parted it. Modern sport bikes have tough motors.

Dude, please stop talking to me like you're schooling a noob. I do shit my way because I pay the bills...and if it'll do my 4k, then itll do most of these guys 10k or more. The plugs come out fine, the bike runs fine, and power defecit isnt a problem at the track, and if it is, there are guys running slower times on 1ks that really need to look into whats wrong with their bikes.

My bike runs fine and telling me that by not putting on a power commander Im going to burn my valves with a full system is funny to me. I wonder how come I never burned the valves in the 25k I did on my 01.... or the 5k I put on the gixxer without ever getting it on a public road. Im sure the 6 gear burnouts bouncing on the limiter didnt do it any good, especially on a sport touring tire that spun until it was two shreds on the rim, as in minutes at a stop at redline until it finally boiled over.... Cooled off, added water, and popped probably 60 more tires on it before parting it.

Bought this whore new in July 08. Overpaid. Took it home and stripped a bunch of shit off, took it to the track at 600 miles. Its had three different slip ons, then went without, then got its crashed pipe. Its been fed all kinds of gas, been to a few states and tracks, been down the strip, through the rain, and even down on its side. Its been overpiped and under fuel managed, used, abused, and neglected. It needs a set of tires, brake pads, and a chain kit. Its gay yellow so I had to get race glass to remedy that. The suspension is stiff as fcuk and beats me to death every time I ride it, the bars are low, and the engine heat to my satchel is a little more than any man should have to endure on a 100* day....

All that aside, it still gives me a raging semi every time I see it in the garage, every time I eclipse 10k on the way to the nirvana of a 16.5k redline, every time I dig deep in a corner or push my luck on the low side of an off camber trying to get around that dude on the gsxrcbrzxwhatthefcukever, every time I come sliding in to the turn by my house thats darker than Jamal after a week in the carribbean sun.... So yeah, I fcuking love this bike, even if my 01 was nicer and cleaner...and the zx6r in my garage clowns it. Those bikes, while nice, do not provide the sexually soulful excitement of my 08. Yamaha, you did bad, but motherfcuker did you do good...:laugh

I've had this bike for one year and half, been riding on streets and canyons, very aggressive and strong, easy to handle and looks so amazing.
The GP1 exhaust sound like a mean symphony.

One thing that I'd consider adding to this piece of art is a steering stabilizer for better overall control since i'm planing to take it to the track for the first time soon!
