I am looking at possibly getting some black stomp grip for my bike but I wanted to see what it looked like installed.

I have an 03 with the black tank.....so if anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

THANKS.

I have this dillemma as well. I want to get the black pads for my 05 raven. Did any of you guys run into good pics? I couldnt find any images on R6MN or google fitting my description.

There is another option...

These are removable and reusable. I used their ice grip on my YZF600R. Its clear, just a light frost on my Liquid Silver bike. Nice product. Motorcycle Consumer News gave them a favorable review (just ahead of the Stomp pads due to the removability / reusability). I wouldn't recommend the Ice Grip for hard riding. It was a commuter thing for me. It has no real texture, just like a grippy surface.

I will likely be ordering the Snakeskin for my '03 Black.

A little less obvious than the Stomp. I like the Stomp, used them at CSS, but too much for day to day, methinks. And not all that attractive.

I have the snake skin on my yzf 750 and the black stomp grip on my r6. I would recommend against the snake skin if you want a grippy tank. The snake skin helped a *little* but the stomp grip definitely holds you much better. I wouldn't recommend the stomp grip if you wear jeans while riding, I tried that once and chapped my inner thighs pretty good. I normally wear nylon overpants or leathers.

The ability to remove the tech spec stuff sold me on it at first but after installing the grips I've never needed to remove it - so why bother? The stomp grip can be removed with some elbow grease and honda polish to remove the adhesive if you need it removed. It won't damage your paint.

The first pic is the black stomp grip on my 06 raven. The pad is a glossy black and blends decently with the paint. The black has metallic flakes in it though so the pad does stand out a little. Not any more than my cf tank pad.

The second pic shows a piece of snake skin next to the stomp grip. You can see that the bumps on the tech spec are MUCH lower and spaced closer than on the stomp grip. Since the tech spec nubs are so close together, there's not a whole lot of mechanical adhesion between you and the grip. Not only are the nubs spaced further apart on the stomp grip, but they're also shaped like a volcano (their description, not mine). The tech spec grip is almost useless other than the fact that it's rubber and the coefficient of friction for rubber is higher than painted metal.

I think it's ugly personally. Very Functional, but very ugly.
