i recently purchased an 03 r6 that had been lowerd. i am 5'6" so naturaly i thought it was comfortable however everyone i talked to said it would not handle properly. i have raised it up but not sure if back to stock in rear. any help?
is it true lowering compromises handling?

i believe lowering the bike makes the bike more stable in a straight line but harder to lean in because the weight is harder to throw around. The other problem with lowering is that the stock foot pegs will probably start scraping the ground at high lean angles.
I believe that getting your preload, spring rate, bound and rebound set correctly are more important than overall bike height. Like iRon said, if you like to ride your bike to it's limits, try to find a local shop to help u set it up. A good suspension can help prevent a crash.
if you only ride on the street, don't worry about the ride height too much.
thanx for the input. i have my first track event coming up and just want everything to be right
