sexxysixx 10-03-2006, 09:23 PM looks alright,,,, o6-r6 is still the sexxiest..
R6Raven06 10-03-2006, 09:29 PM i think the black looks reallllllly hot. The silver with the red rims is sexy too :cheers
i think my raven will spank it through the twisties :swordfigh
:repost :repost :repost :repost :repost :repost :repost
r6jon 10-03-2006, 09:52 PM Looks good but I still don't like the stock front signals. Not much room for aftermarket origionality.
ZeeGay 10-03-2006, 10:18 PM just like big brother
r6-hybridd 10-03-2006, 11:09 PM All i see is a Ducati 999, an 06 r6 and a zx-10
MS2004R6 10-03-2006, 11:11 PM REd all the way
the_student 10-03-2006, 11:44 PM they say the bike carry's insane speed through turns, i caint wait till my bro pics his up.. i wanna test the theory.
cashmoneyflo 10-04-2006, 04:34 AM i like the colors
SVTLightning 10-04-2006, 05:17 AM Whats REALLY changed besides the headligths...blah
gambier82 10-04-2006, 08:49 AM I have a hard time understanding why they would put an underseat exhaust on a 600. I think the GP look of the yamaha and gixxer look the best, really cleans up the undertail. Seems pointless, and doesn't the seat get hot?
I dunno, guess I won't be buying one of the undertail kits for my bike.
Easy guys. I kinda like it...especially the black.
Granted, for me that's not saying a lot. I love all bikes. Generally I can find something I like on all of them...even hogs.
JSXR6 10-04-2006, 10:39 AM Kawasaki Is the only other bike I would buy besides Yamaha.
midnght 10-04-2006, 04:47 PM Whats REALLY changed besides the headligths...blah
Don't have a comparison, but it seems they have made some good changes. In the world of our beloved 600 race-oriented street rocket, I am sure almost everything that gets changed is an improvement. It wouldn't be good for a company to put out a subpar machine.
As far as the looks.....it's sleeker and more defined in my eyes.
Here are some specs from the press release:
2007 Kawasaki Supersport Motorcycles Released (cont.)
2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R
Features and Benefits
(http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/newsandupdates/122_0609_2007_kawasaki_supersport_motorcycles/photo_13.html)
Key Features
Incredible power-to-weight ratio
Race-oriented performance
Track-tuned handling
Aggressive new aerodynamic styling
High-Revving 599cc Four-Cylinder, DOHC Engine
New compact, narrow and lightweight design features a tri-axis crankshaft and transmission shaft layout to optimize the engine’s center of gravity. This helps reduce pitch changes during heavy braking and gives the rider more-accurate feedback from the chassis
Narrow engine design allows excellent ground clearance
Four-Valve Cylinder Head
Compact valve train reduces cylinder head height
Intake ports and coolant passages were developed using flow analysis for efficient cylinder filling, more power, and maximum cooling efficiency
Forged sintered aluminum spring retainers are half the weight of steel retainers and allow higher rpm
Forged Pistons
Forged pistons are lighter, stronger and more heat resistant than cast versions. Ram Air Induction
Central ram air duct produces a straighter path to the airbox for maximum intake efficiency and provides the mounting surface for the instrument panel, eliminating brackets and weight
Flow analysis used to design efficient ducts to the airbox that also prevent water from reaching the air filter
Compact airbox and air cleaner are highly efficient and contribute to the compact riding position
Digital Fuel Injection
Shorter throttle bodies deliver improved over-rev characteristics
Smaller throttle bore diameter helps produce more torque in the mid-range
Ultra-fine atomizing injectors improve combustion efficiency, for better power output and lower fuel consumption
TCBI Ignition with Digital Advance
High-speed 32-bit ECU processor provides precise engine management
Spark plug-mounted ignition coils are compact and help reduce weight
(http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/newsandupdates/122_0609_2007_kawasaki_supersport_motorcycles/photo_15.html)
Pre-chamber Equipped Under-seat Muffler
New exhaust pre-chamber is located below the engine and contributes to better mass centralization
Revised under-seat silencer is significantly smaller and lighter to help mass centralization and allow for a more aerodynamic tailsection
New exhaust header design contributes to improved exhaust efficiency
Six-Speed Transmission
New cassette-type transmission features a racing-style gear stack to allow easier trackside ratio changes
Close ratio transmission increases circuit performance Racing-Style Slipper Clutch
Racing-type slipper clutch reduces chassis disturbance when making rapid downshifts. This allows the rider dedicate more attention to braking and setting up for the corner
Optional springs, spring retainers and shims are available to fine-tune the clutch for specific track conditions
Gear Position Sensor
The convenient gear position sensor gives instant information to the rider, this is especially useful for improving consistency when testing new settings on the racetrack
The system compatible with the semi-automatic shifters (legal in AMA Supersport racing) which temporarily cut ignition to facilitate clutchless shifts at full-throttle
(http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/newsandupdates/122_0609_2007_kawasaki_supersport_motorcycles/photo_16.html)
Lightweight Twin Spar Aluminum Perimeter Frame
Combination of pressed and cast aluminum components are welded to form the twin-spar perimeter-type frame. By combining cast and pressed pieces frame weight is kept to a minimum while still providing high strength and stability for responsive handling
Chassis features optimum center of gravity for easy roll response, this is particularly important when riding through a series of esses or returning to vertical as the rider exits a corner
Uni-Trak® Rear Suspension
New Uni-Trak® rear suspension system features pillow ball upper mount in place of the earlier bushings for a more direct feel and improved feedback
Compact frame and engine allow a longer swingarm, which makes it easier to control rear wheel powerslides
Rear shock is fully adjustable for preload, compression and rebound damping. Ride height can be adjusted by adding/removing optional 1mm shims at the upper shock mount
Equipped with a top-out spring which improves the rear wheel’s ability to follow the road surface when the rear end is light due to hard braking
Small piggyback shock reservoir is designed to save weight
41mm Inverted Cartridge Front Fork
New fully-adjustable 41mm inverted cartridge fork provides exceptional rigidity
Equipped with top-out springs which allow the front wheel to better follow the road surface when the front end is light due to hard acceleration
The main fork spring is located at the bottom of the fork. Because the spring is completely submerged in oil, cavitation is minimized, resulting in stable suspension performance even under demanding racetrack conditions
Stiff settings are suitable for track use
Radial Mounted Front Disc Brakes
Radial mounted four-piston, four-pad front brake calipers improve brake feel over a wider range of operation
A separate brake pad is used for each piston. One large pad tends to deform with the heat generated by hard track style riding, resulting in a loss of brake feel at the lever. Individual pads provide increased cooling efficiency and can absorb more heat without deforming so they maintain consistent brake feel lap after lap
Petal design brake discs offer excellent cooling and warp resistance
Aerodynamic Bodywork
New design is the most aerodynamically efficient of any Ninja sportbike available today
Light and compact projector beam headlights allow a more aerodynamic fairing
The new Ram Air duct is small but highly efficient
The exhaust system includes an under-engine resonator which allows the use of a smaller under-seat muffler. This helps to minimize drag by allowing a cleaner tail section design
Integrated front and rear turn signals reduce wind resistance
Three-piece front fender designed for aero efficiency
Different color panels create a sporty, aggressive image
Riding Position
New ultra-compact chassis places the rider in a ideal position to take advantage of the ZX-6R’s improved handling capabilities, by improving the man-machine interface
Slimmer fuel tank design makes it easier for the rider to grip the tank and seat when hanging off in a turn
Advanced Electronic Instrumentation
Multifunction odometer, tripmeter, clock and lap timer/stopwatch
I have a hard time understanding why they would put an underseat exhaust on a 600. I think the GP look of the yamaha and gixxer look the best, really cleans up the undertail. Seems pointless, and doesn't the seat get hot?
I dunno, guess I won't be buying one of the undertail kits for my bike.
See highlighted area.
njk27 10-04-2006, 06:00 PM Not a fan.
Steve01R6 10-15-2006, 07:41 PM Is it just me or does this bike look like the limited production Yamaha R7?
roushrider81 10-16-2006, 05:29 PM its great when the headlight is off but i dont like it with the headlight on!
PinstripeMonkey 10-17-2006, 02:58 PM Easy guys. I kinda like it...especially the black.
Granted, for me that's not saying a lot. I love all bikes. Generally I can find something I like on all of them...even hogs.
I agree with you up till the "hog" comment. There are a few hogs that I like, but only a few. As for the new 07 ZX6r, it is sleak and sexy. I would ride it.
seasonedfries 10-17-2006, 03:04 PM i think it looks like shit
marcus.bates 10-26-2006, 01:44 PM I am sure performance is good, but I have never liked the looks of Kawi. I think the tank looks dated, rear fairing looks good but the under tail looks like it is filled with too much shit. You don’t hide under-designed engine parts with plastic. Oh yeah and the headlights would be cool if they didn't look like a Daytona 675 with Down Syndrome. It just doesn't hold up with the super aggressive lines that the R-6 carries among other 6’s. These are street bikes. Street bikes need to be the baddest thing on the road but can't they make it look a little nicer. Nice post ”midnght”.
rideblue450 10-28-2006, 09:58 PM i like it, they did the same thing as honda though- with the undertail, not the exhaust though, not sure i like the brake and signals where you cant really "clean it up" but overall i would definately ride it, and i agree with what someone said, if i didnt buy a yamaha, id be on a zx6 right now.
Hetzen89 10-31-2006, 11:00 PM Oh yeah and the headlights would be cool if they didn't look like a Daytona 675 with Down Syndrome.
Hahaha so true, would look awesome if they fixed the headlights by making them a little more sharper than all bubbly looking, otherwise if you like it and wanna buy one get black! Pretty hot
-Steve
Turbo-Joe 11-06-2006, 01:35 PM The black one looks really nice... Never liked the green and their red bikes are TOO red.
808r6 12-23-2006, 03:12 PM i dont like the headlights, esp when illuminated and the seat area is super bulky! not too bad though
jjcucio 12-26-2006, 06:32 AM cosmetics are up to personal opinion....from the look of these pics, looks like the seat is high and the bars are LOW and far away....that makes me think riding was some sort of punishment.
i know these are made to be "race" but most of us ride them on the street...my 2cents
RowdyRods 12-26-2006, 07:27 AM I think I would rather like to Shit in a brown Paper sack and spur the shiot out of it all the way to work then wonder why I was late again before I would make one payment on that thing.
Best looking zx-6R to date. I hate the cheap-looking silver forks and the exhaust popping out at the lowers
imbob05 01-04-2007, 12:24 AM im diggin it, the Kawasaki has done really well with not letting their undertail exhaust bikes' seat get hot. I like how the made it look like the current 10 gen.
FYI "hog" isn't a bike it stands for Harley Owners Group.
Catch 01-22-2007, 04:11 PM in my opinion, lookswise, its HOT! the tail and tank look a little fat, and the headlights are ugly, but a VERY hot bike!
I talked to a guy not long ago that rides an 05 and he loves it!
driftdevil 02-09-2007, 05:21 PM I think it is pretty nice. When I went to the show and got to sit on it, that is when they lost me. When I got on it it sat me way more forward (feeling wise) than my 06 R6. And not to mention I still don't like the idea of the taillight under the exhaust.
06R6Ty 02-09-2007, 06:44 PM You guys missed the best part. The best improvement overall looks like the gauge cluster, I think they finally got rid of the crappy digital one and went with an analog tach.
the_student 02-09-2007, 07:23 PM if you guys would pay attention closely, it looks dead on a yamaha R7.
it has been controversy on the kawi board for a while about that, seems like kawasaki finally woke up.
but i actually think they are kinda nice looking. i wouldnt buy one, but i would take one or two... if it was given to me like kane... and in 30 minutes, and 2 miles on the bikes, having the tail scrapped just like the ones in the picture.
I just picked up my 2 new '07 Kawasaki Zx6Rs today.
between the two i have a collective 11 miles on em now.
spent most of the evening trying to set one of em up. would have had the handbrake on tonight but i forgot the brake line! DOH!
i will mess with em more next week when i get back from Tx. am leaving tomorrow for San Antonio!
shucks! i really wanted to go riding damnit!
anyways heres some pics.
whatcha think?

Seriously. Silver forks? WTF.
the_student 02-10-2007, 01:32 AM yeah, not quite a raven R6....
black levers and all, but then you got silver pegs..... i guess they matched it somewhere. :o
Mezzanine06 02-10-2007, 10:33 AM Not my thing...Id get a gixxer before a kawi
the_student 02-10-2007, 11:37 AM Not my thing...Id get a gixxer before a kawi
woah... that is a serious statement right there.
i think about kawis would be my second choice.
B|ack_Ange| 02-11-2007, 06:12 AM I wouldn't mind jumping on a cbr as the next bike.
nomozx10r 02-11-2007, 05:08 PM well comming off of a 05 zx-10. I am now riding a raven R6 because it was time to change bikes and I think the exhaust and whole tail section on the new 10 is just plain disgusting looking. All the new kawi's look like they've just gotten back from their freshman year of college and have all gained 30 pounds. The rounded edges on the front of both bikes look horrible where the r6 is in my opinion, one of the best looking bikes in the world next to the mv agusta F4!
MaxxxEdge 02-12-2007, 12:50 PM well comming off of a 05 zx-10.
Agreed... Kawi messed up with the 06/07 ZX-10R... the 04/05 are way cooler. Besides, there is nothing out there that has the brutally mental power delivery of an 04/05...
BMFRavenR6 03-22-2007, 03:33 PM i think the forks and rims off the silver one would look awesome on the black one . and all this talk about the 04-05 zx-10 my body has one and talks highly bout it . are they really as bad as he says and yall make them out to be ? all i hear is the arm breaking force blah blah . he got it from his dad cuz he bought a cruiser
MaxxxEdge 03-22-2007, 03:44 PM I'm assisting a friend with a magazine bike project '04 ZX10R -- the power delivery on that bike is simply mental. It's only turning around 155rwhp on the dyno right now, but the tuning has barely been started. It's not so much the hp -- as there are higher stock hp bikes out there -- it's the midrange punch that is simply ear-to-ear grin. Very hard to keep the front end on the ground.
Agreed. The 04/05 10R is much sexier than the 06/07, which looks fat and disgusting.
And yeah, the reach on the 6R is sooo long, and I'm 6'3.
BMFRavenR6 03-22-2007, 11:26 PM ya my buddy when he races he says first and second he eases into or it come up . he has akro slip on and front sprocket . at the races tonight he tore a strecthed 600 up with lots of work and a busa . as for me i got a 06 cbr600 and a 06 636 with stuff done .
07R6jardine 03-26-2007, 05:20 AM Not bad a big improvement on looks for Kawi. Im just not a big Ninja fan. I have a 2nd bike but its a Suzuki GSXR-600 (06) ... I prefer the ride and the seat over Honda. Of course none of them match Yamaha overall.
method62 03-26-2007, 06:57 PM i like the black. the front end reminds me of the R7
Fungesy313 03-27-2007, 04:07 AM its not 2 bad,but the older version is much better...in terms of techno, they do have an improvement....espiacally with the gear indicator on its dash... am i rite? :)
DRDcustoms 04-04-2007, 02:58 PM She is hot, the pictures don't do her any justice.
SRH-07R6 04-08-2007, 07:58 PM It looks ok, don't really like the look of the front end
mustang633 04-10-2007, 06:32 PM I gotta say i like it, my buddy got a 636 kawi and i really like his bike except for the digital tach...just hard to use when runnin the road..but after you get used to the sound of the engine im sure you wouldnt even have to look at it again....but i still like the analog on the newer zx.....i just read a couple of mags that opinioned that the new kawi was really comfy on the street....one thing for sure i love the look of the 06-07 r6 but the ergos...well its not why we buy a sportbike....i dont want to be tared and feathered but add the ergos+ ultra high rpm manner of the 06-07 r6 makes me say if i was lookin for a new 600 it wouldnt be the yammi....sorry but id be lookin elsewhere...and considering alot of us spend more time on the street than the track Id be most enterested in the R6s, zzr600, f4i, and possibly the katana 750....just my .02
neverdead614 04-10-2007, 06:39 PM the rear view photo looks like shit...only the black looks decent cuz you cant see all the lines and shape of the bike
Tommy2003R6 04-10-2007, 06:49 PM I rode it and the bike is amazing!!! My best friend has it and honestly, if I were to get a new 600 this year, it would be my choice. Pictures do it no justice, the bike is sweet!!! Everything about it is smooth!!! Don't knock it until you ride one!!!
PepeRB29 04-11-2007, 01:03 PM i rode it and didn't like it too much, not gonna go as far to say as i dislike it, but the guages were near impossible to see because of the windscreen, and i guess i've gotten used to the explosion of power on my 6 after 10k, this didn't really have that. yes it was smooth, but it just felt normal. just my opinion
07R6RIDER 04-11-2007, 05:34 PM I Think Its Ok But Its Just Not As Sexy As My R6
jc r6 04-12-2007, 05:49 AM I want one!
Jimbo14 05-26-2007, 10:46 PM I went to the Kawasaki dealer to have a close look the other day. 10/10 for styling, It looks fantastic. I think the black ninja is very classy looking!
Jenni 06-21-2007, 09:44 PM sexy
808r6 06-21-2007, 11:23 PM thick tail...very ugly...headlights are ugly(especially when illuminated) just plain dont like it...i hope they upgraded their forks cus they sucked!
PuMbAaA 06-23-2007, 08:49 PM Their forks sucked?? No way.... lol
Fungesy313 06-24-2007, 08:59 AM Their forks sucked?? No way.... lol
Is that Ohlins? :D
YZFR62007 07-19-2007, 01:55 PM I saw one today he was riding by he did a burn out at a red light pretty cool!
She is hot, the pictures don't do her any justice.
Post a write-up about your new CBR...
I got mine this week....was going in to get 07 r6, kawasaski zx-6 was my second choice, after sitting on them both and checking them out i went with the kawi. Very happy with my decision, probably would have been happy with r6 to. This is my first bike though so i dont really have anything to compare it to. Only thing that sucks is im not supposed to break 4000 rpm for first 500. :throwup Thats 45 on the dot in 6th
