Thinking of adding a zx-14 in my bike garage opinions??? Havent had a chance to ride one yet but will this spring decide on my next bike..i kno its not going to be as much fun in the twistys ( i guess) as my r6 but it looks sweet, and comfy....please dont flame me too much but i had a busa on my mind until i seen the 14 in person....only thing is I really dont know if i want a bike with this much ass....ethier the busa or the zx...i mean my r6 is plenty fast so i really wouldnt be using the bike for what it was intended for (which i would have to assume drag racing) i would just be half ass crusin and lookin...cool (?) maybe i should just get an R1..i had also played with the thought of a kawi R 636....what do u guys think..should i just squid around on a big bike for fun or use my dough for a more twisty type bike..Ive ridin busas and i will say they are fun in the twist a little too fast for me right now to actually use its attributes but still not the road hogg i had thought it would be actually nimble..i dont know about the 14 though....you guys with xperience help me out please!!!!!!!

my vote would be GSXR750. As for the ZX14R, my local dealer had two of them brought back and traded with under 1000 miles on them. Word is they are pathetic in low revs around town. If you are deperate for a hyper tourer get the Busa

i'd go check numbers, didn't the r1 put up better numbers than the busa this year? Not sure though, but ya if i had a choice i'd get the r1, but thats just because i've ridden my friends 06 r1 and its hella fun. haven't ridden the other ones though =(

Well, i dont see buying another r6, i already got one and Im not planning on losin it anytime soon, so i cant justify buying another one..not that a new r6 doesnt strike my fancy!!!! But really my 04 isnt so far from the new ones for me to warrent another....now the R1 does add a little more to the mix but once again its not that ultra tourer i was kinda interested in hence why i metioned a busa or zx-14...no one has said anything about a 636 (which would be used by the end of this year scince its droped from the kawi roster..why who knows?) Another idea which i didnt metion that KRL metioned the gsx 750...mmmmm......I just got my mind on ergos sorta with a little more tourability but with the xtra getty-up......I dont know...KRL what were the reasons those people traded the zx-14?????

As far as I know the 636 is dropped from the line up. what about the 1098?

as for the ZX14 they said there wasnt enough power down low and it made in town driving almost unbearable. Granted, that isnt what you buy a sportbike for, but we all know you get stuck at slow speeds alot.

IMO the Gix750 is the best blend of power/weight.

Wow the zx-14 must really suck down low for a noticeable amount to be traded in...I was kinda disapointed in my R6 originally because of the lack of low end, but i got used to it now it doesnt even bother me...kinda gives me an xcuse to listen to my xhaust!! Have you ridden the gixxer 750?? If so what were the ergos like?? Was it alot more powerful than our six, especially in the low and mid?? With what youve said about the zx-14 Im thinkin more along with the busa, r1, kawa636, gix750, maybe the cbr rr 1000

if the 14 does suck in the ow revs, change the gearing and add a pc3 to fix it. if you're willing to wait next year the busa should be an all new design and the concurs will be replaced with a concurs-14. Have you considered a goldwing? (hehe i had to)

well yeah the gix is a lot more powerful. You are talking over 20 HP difference and the weight is basically the same.

Well i had took a look at the concour 14 in the mags kinda interested but i don tknow if its going to be to tame or not...the goldwing is about 30 years in the future but not for me now!!!!!! How are the ergos on the gsx 750?? The ergos are one of the reasons i was interested in the busa and zx14....uuhh plus the go go!!!!!

those 636's are plenty powerful. the extra cc over a 600 is definately noticeable

they're getting rid of the 636 and bringing in a new zxr 600cc.

the zx636 is still a sports bike. you may as well stick with your r6.

the ergos on the 750 will not be as comfortable as the Busa or the 14r. More like the GSXR600/1000

well the ergos are on par with most Japanese sportbikes Im sure...i love the looks of a Ducati but i wouldnt buy one because simply the ergos...especially scince i couldnt ride it on par with its ability..actually i cant ride my r6 to its ability ethier...How many can???...Anyway thanks for all the opinions and advice guys it helps keep it up!!!!!!

I wouldn't recommend buying another 600 because you already have one. I had a busa and a zx12 bfore and the 12 is by far much better imo. I don't know about the 14 but any big bore bike low torque doesn't suck down low after you've ridden a 600. Find whichever fits you best and gives the best deal. Obviously think about resale before buying anything, that way if you don't like it you can recoup most of your cash.
