: Hi Everyone, New Bike 07 R6
Yam07R6 06-05-2007, 05:24 PM Just bought an 07 charcoal R6, I have about 560 miles on it still in the break in period. So far I have added real carbon fiber mirrors, GYTR carbon fiber exhaust, carbon fiber rear fender, short stalk small front blinkers, rear fender delete with LED blinkers, Gold bar ends same color as forks, West Racing decal set, ON ORDER Carbon fiber airbox cover, carbon fiber front fender, power commander, gilles rear sets black. You could say I have Obsessional Compulsive disorder and it is getting worse............ I will post some pics as soon as I figure out how to reduce the size.
Manoah 06-05-2007, 05:37 PM hmmm, thats alot of fiber, must keep you regular. welcome.

Here are some pics. Some minor changes have been made but nothing real noticeable since I took these shots. The C5-vette I sold and the 911 I sold recently. I can definately say the bike would take the #1 spot in my garage.
SpeedraceR6 06-09-2007, 03:06 PM Nice pics! Love the porsche as well.

HBHarrison 06-19-2007, 04:04 PM looks like an R1 to me lol
Yam07R6 06-19-2007, 04:21 PM Nice, I bought the PUIG Carbon Look windscreen it is nice but didn't match the carbon fiber mirrors. I have an MCarbon windscreen on order now. Bike looks great HB. I can't wait until the break in period is up I am around 800 miles now. I opened it up a little running with a friend of mine on his 02 1000 GSXR and stayed with him pretty well but those GSXR 1000's are very quick. I can't imagine running my R6 up around 15K - 16.5K I imagine it will hang pretty well......we'll see.
lorna 06-19-2007, 04:22 PM oh s**t thats right... I forgot I decided to use the different pic... Lol... My bad.. Lol..
lorna 06-19-2007, 04:24 PM Have you seen or rode on an 07 GSXR 1000s?... Wheelies right up... torque like a mother...
cobra306 06-21-2007, 12:01 AM HBHarrison, lose the starship Enterprise on the back and get a clean FE. Other than that your bike is... :boob
Yam07R6, bike is sweet. Those decals complete the package, very nice.
HBHarrison 06-21-2007, 12:24 AM im waiting for them to come in lol there on order.. should be here by the end of this month so i iwll post the pics when i get rid of it lol dont worry lol :D
Painful Pleasures 06-21-2007, 04:15 AM I have ha my 07 for about 3 months now, and ride it everyday as much as I can I love it the tach already shows 8199 miles. It has been lowered 3 in.,put new sprockets 2 up rear 1 down front, smoked out screen,Blue eliminator kit, flush mount front blinkers, Hot bodies slash cut exaust and painted it myself (still need to clearcoat it) waiting on blue paint to do the rear hugger and the seat will be done today.
here are some pics in stages.

Honestly, how much is your ride quality affected from you lowering it and what product did you use? I was thinking of lowering mines a bit. Also how does that slash cut exhaust sound (any louder than stock)?
Oh and welcome to the forum Yam07R6 :toocool:
Painful Pleasures 06-21-2007, 06:39 AM I used diamond motorsports dog bones to lower the back you have a choice of 1 1/2 or 3 in. and on the front I just dropped the trees down the ride quality is a little bouncier but you can adjust your suspension to compensate a lot of the roughness it's really not that bad.As far as the Slash cut pipe I love it ,it's louder than stock lot throatier. I forgot to add I just put new reaper levers on too

For me lowering an inch just allowed me to be completely flat footed the ride quality is about the same. The suspension is firm either way unless you adjust it. It really doesn't bother me unless your on a really bumpy road.
Thanks for all the positive comments.

How tall are you, i'm only 5'6"
Yam07R6 06-21-2007, 10:34 AM 5'9", but remember if your bike is new it will settle in a little bit. So I would go low enough to where your not completely flat footed. It will lower slightly anyway. I am also 197 lbs so my weight pulls it down a little too.
HBHarrison 06-21-2007, 01:50 PM it looks alot different lowered to me... im only 5'6 an 140lbs an... yea .. i admit its a bit of a high seat hieght but... as long as i can flat foot my lef tfoot at the lights..with my right foot on the rear brake ( like your suppose to lol ) im fine. As for backing up.. yea i tippy to it... but i make sure i know where im backing it up first... if all comes to worst.. i just get off an push iot back with it on my right hip lol might look dumb but hey... it works. Anyone else notice how different it looks lowered? And im planin on takin it to the track an i have heard once u lower it, it drastically changes the cornering techniques
Painful Pleasures 06-21-2007, 04:36 PM im 5'7 and it is perfect i have both feet planted firmly which is a good feeling.
it does take a min. to get use to it but not long and in my opinion it looks mean as hell like it is ready to rock.cornering is affected ,but you can put it back to stock stance for the track.but i tell you what it is a headturner for sure
07R6candyReD 06-24-2007, 10:47 PM Sup!!!!!! I just bought my 07 r6 last friday. I got the candyred.. Badass bikes
BlitzedR6 06-27-2007, 02:17 PM wat frame sliders are those harrison?
HBHarrison 06-30-2007, 08:32 PM im not really sure what KIND of frame sliders they are. I ordered them right from the dealership, an not sure of the brand. They are all black with no logo or anything so im not %100. They are not CUT ins, They fit around the fariings.
Maplesyrup 06-30-2007, 10:30 PM did you get plugs for those passanger pegs? I took mine off too and am looking for plugs really no luck so far :(
cwf82 07-02-2007, 07:03 PM My bike was lowered 3" all around when I bought it. It was a head turner no doubt, but after riding it for a week or so I raised it up some(its down 1 1/2" all around now). I was hitting bumps and dragging the back just a touch every once in a while. If I didn't ride it all around inner loop houston, I wouldn't have had a problem though. (horrible streets around towCn) I LOVED the way it looked that low and honestly it didn't ride bad at all. It does corner better now that it's a little higher. I bought it from lownslow, check out his fs pics, looks sweet! Guess thats why I bought it. Oh, deleted nasty rear bumper by adding integrated rear tail light, and added no cut frame/swingarm sliders.
Natas 07-02-2007, 08:31 PM nice toys.

hmm i'll have to check my dealer i like em
Yam07R6 07-08-2007, 07:28 PM After some hard riding I put the stock links back on. I can now say that lowering it DID mess with the handling after riding it with stock links last weekend it's like night and day for me.
Government Issued 07-10-2007, 09:07 AM That bad boy looks F__cking HARD
Yam07R6 07-10-2007, 12:49 PM Thanks. Not done yet though couple more things and it will be just right.
