I put on the CF Gytr Slip-on the other day and it seems as if it didnt even really make a sound difference. . . whats the deal why am i paying money for this pipe and not getting any louder or doing much tone difference. It is a noticebly deeper tone at idle but thats about it. Anything that would make it louder without buying a midpipe?? I also noticed that the pipe itself is "packed." Would taking the packing out of it make it louder or just make it sound shittier. Not really sure what the point of the packing is? Any ideas??

Get your RPM's about 6K rpm. It sounds completely different than the stock exhaust.

I have a GYTR slip on and I think it sounds great.

i have the same problem with my akrapovic. i was gonna drill out the rivets and take out some of the packing, but i was afraid it would cause pressure pockets and turbulence in the can. My plan is to shorten the muffler and repack it. Ive had issues with getting any solid answers on this topic too.

The slip on is just for looks. It may change the sound in a subtle way but it's not a performance mod and it doesn't change the exhaust flow from the bike. Remove the cat (add a midpipe, search for that) or get a full exhaust.
i have the same slip-on. give it some time for it to break in and the sound will get louder.
