you dont NEED a power commander for the slashcut on a 06-07, unless you just want one.

really? i just keep hearing guys at the local shop tell me things. guess they just want money. what exactly will a power commander do? is that more for a full exhaust system?

yeah its to tune the bikes air/fuel ratio and such since back pressure and things thange. Nothing on your R6 is gonna change power wise through the exhaust unless you get rid of the HUGE cat.

does anyone offer different style cats or replacements?

I don't think I've ever heard of an aftermarket converter specifically for a bike, they make them for cars obviously when the factory ones break apart, overheat and melt, ect. to clog the exhaust...I suppose if you really wanted to you could weld in a high flow converter like a magnaflow, ect just gotta make sure of clearance issues so you don't burn your plastics but if your gonna take off the cat I can't see why you'd ever wanna put another one back on.

you want a power commander. if you start pumping more air through your motor by using an exhaust, you want to then start pumping more fuel through the motor to compensate for the increased amount of air flow. also, by doing this your able to push that much more fuel into the motor thus making more power. The main point is that you dont want to run your bike lean. Get a power commander if your changing your intake or exhaust IMO.
