so ive never done this before so a few questions first is how? second is how do i check my oil level? thanks the bike is a 02 r6

remove the side fairing and lower... or lower only if you can... drain plug is under the kickstand area and filter is near coolant reserve... drain... fill from the right hand side of the bike near the tank... dipstick is down behind the rear brake pedal, just under 3 quarts...

That's for my 03 and it's probably very close for yours

So you have to remove the lower fairings on both sides? I have an 02

No just remove the fairing on the left side where the coolant reserve is.

I thought so. Because the black plug on the right side is easily accessed. That's where you refill right?
