Hi all, this is my first post, mainly because i have a problem and need help. The other day as i was leaving the house, gonna ride out to the bank to make a deposit... I rounded the houseing additions curve and i hear this light clanking, and the next thing i know... I have no gears at all.

What did I do?

I did pull the front up as i was leaving, for fun you know... and i might have come down kinda hard but not hard enough to break anything IMO.

Any input is appreciated.

So the bike just stays in neutral? Is your neutral light on? What year bike is it? Can you spin the back tire with out pulling in the clutch?

Sorry to hear about this!

no, i can get it into every gear, when i let out on the clutch it does nothing. Yes it is clicking into gears, it is actually going through the gears. The clutch lever has tension, it does snap back. Nothing is out of the ordinary. I do not know what is going on. It is a 2001 R6. I honsetly don't know if there really was a clanking that was out of the ordinary either...

When i let out on the clutch it does not kill it or anything.

Sorry i shoulda put a bit more detail into my original post.

I'm just pissed off and bumme, even :drink didn't help. I spose it was because i was with a riding buddy of mine who was givin me hell.

oh well

Ok, Ok,

I was away for a part of the weekend, and i'm sittin here in my garage lookin at my baby. I do recall when i was walking it back to the house that i heard an uncommon sound, a clatter - clickin. i just took that it was the chain... Well here's the thing, the chain is loose. Very loose. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow though, i want to go to bed now. Anyone ever had the chain pop of the front sprocket before?

Thanks

yea man that def sounds like it could be the problem. does it have an aftermarket sprocket? if it does it may be for a 520 chain or something and the stock 530 just hopped off.

Honestly, I have no clue. I was under the impression that it was all stock except for the slip on, but Hell i don't know. Now i get to figure out how to tear it down to get to the front sprocket!

BTW i have only had it for not even 1 month

Thanks

OK so it is a 15 toother. but the guy didn't put the nut and washer back on! or at least didn't tighten it or something...

DAMN IT ALL.

Luckily no damage

Except for the deal which the nut screw onto is stripped

Now what do i do?

Take a look at that microfish on yamaha's site to see if you can just replace the bolt. I'll get a second opinion once I get settle in from moving.

Good fortune! Thtas hella cheaper than a new tranny or clutch!
