My question is i have been riding for 3 years and now im ready to learn but i love her so much and it would really hurt if i dropped her. All i have fpr protection so far is frame slidders. So could a person learn without dropping your child.

Thanks for the replies

iv done many wheelies (all with the clutch) and never dropped mine. cover the rear brake and make sure you dont over do the rpms and youll be fine. takes practice thats all, just slowly build up to it until you get it

ive never fallen, and most of the people i know that can wheelie have never fallen while doing a wheelie.

yea, i have never fallen while learning to wheelie, i have only been doing them for about 3 months, and im just now getting comfortable where i can clutch up in first gear and ride it out for a decent amount of time, but i did almost fall off the back once, ended up racking my nuts on the gas tank pretty hard. :eek5

start out conservative. definitely learn to use the rear brake to bring the front down, especially if your goal is to get the bike up to balance point.

ive fallen. if your really looking to actually stunt ride, and not just do 100mph highway wheelies, if your not falling your not learning, it just hurts alot less when your going slow

The people that I know that can really do a lot of tricks have fallen. I fell on another bike doing parking lot clutch ups 7 years ago. If you want to learn what it feels like and get the hang of it get a cheap dirt bike. Wheelie like mad, drop it all you want, great way to learn.

I am glad that there are people out there that haven't fallen. Keeps me motivated.

yeah I'm in the same boat, Had my R6 for about 2 1/2years now and just started doing wheelies... I can tare ass on my Grizzly 700 and ride wheelies forever but the R6 is a whole other animal!
I have been practicing clutching it up in 1st and at the most I have been able to get it up about 1-2 feet... I guess I'm still very green to it and still have a bit of nerves to overcome. Needless to say every red light and every stop sign posses a new opportunity! hehe (as long as there are no po'po) LOL!

I also have found that body position is very important... It's the difference of getting it up or doing a rolling burn out! ha!

I fell after i 12 o'clocked it. Completely ruined the tail of the bike, which i finally got fixed but now i am realizing i ****ed something up in the front also, possibly the forks. Unfortunately i did that with my new r6. after i get it fixed i think a stunt bike will be coming to my house also.

keep in mind though that these are highway wheelies, everyone i know that can do the slow stuff has eaten it a lot.
