stoneloco808 12-12-2003, 08:23 PM i ordered a pair of polished Gregg's Custom Flushmounts for my '03 from McCoy Motorsports a couple of months ago. a couple of days later i attemepted to install the pair.
i started on the left side. i removed the fairing and turn signal. cut the wires on the original to use the connector on the Flushmount. i soldered the wires and heat shrinked the 2 wires. i popped it in the hole of the fairing and noticed it sits deep in the hole. i didnt think nothing of it just thought it wasnt flush. i connected the connectors and put the fairing on. i had to push the fairing to line everything up. i looked underneath to check on my wiring and noticed the wire snapped off. in my head i was thinking i hope i didnt break it. i removed everything to inspect. and yes i did break the connection at the l.e.d.. i soldered all the original turnsignal back and bolted everything back on.
i sent an email to Gregg's Customs and told them my sad story. they told me to send them the broken item and they will repair it for free. so i sent the broken item only to recieve a call from them a few days later. they asked where i got this pair from. i told them McCoy Motorsports. then they told me the pair i have is for an R1. now it made sense because they said it sits in the hole deeper in the fairing, not flush(duh!!!). so they tell me to send the other one and they will send me a new polished pair for an R6.
once i got the item i removed the fairings again, cut wires, solder wires and reinstalled everything. now finally i have this trick looking turn signals installed. i like these. the only thing better is to have a 3 wire LED. so we could use it for parking lights and turnsignals. maybe with enough requests it could be possible.
i dont know what caused the mix up. the original package of the first pair says it was for an R6 but it was wrong. i cant really blame anyone for the mixup. But i am satisfied with the excellent customer service at Gregg's Customs. Mahalo(thank you) to Gregg and the awesome staff at Gregg's Customs for going out of there way.
penfold 12-12-2003, 09:04 PM Sweet! Glad to hear everything worked out. Any pics of them installed? I'm waiting for my GC mirror covers to come that I ordered from McCoy. Thought they would have been here today but alas, they are not and I don't have a tracking number from McCoy to find them.......Emailed McCoy and am awaiting a response.......

I got them in black so that if/when I get them engraved with something, the aluminum will show thru the black powdercoat (atleast thats the theory I'm going on)
And Cliff, can't wait to see pics. The reason I went with the flushmount I got is cuz they were 3 lead (blinker and running lights that alternate color) but I like the looks of the GC's better.
Aloha
jasamb 12-13-2003, 01:22 PM penfold, post pics when you get em, I think I might order a set for myself. Do they come just plain...no r6 logo or yamaha logo or anything?

are they flush like the ones advertised? the first pair i got were not flush. i couldnt see the bulb from the front. it sat like half way in, i think. that would be messed up if our stickers were switched.

its not a sticker. its more like a brand on all my pics i post here and other sites. so i know its my pics if it gets reposted somewhere else. i used to do alot of hacking of nextel motorola phones. when the i95cl phones came out with color screens custom wallpapers could be loaded in the phone. i used to mess around with photoshop 7.0 to make my wallpapers. now i just use it to put my brands on my pics.

deserteaglepoint50 02-12-2004, 06:45 PM Does anyone use these?? Sounds like you have to gut some other flushmount and then install another circuit card?? Sounds like a lot of work for 60+ dollars. Am I getting that right??

to be honest with you that was my first impression when i read the details of the product. you would have to ask the other members. i wanted the Greggs flushmounts as you could see because it actually sits flush to the fairings.
Mr6er 02-13-2004, 04:42 PM Thanks for the link Stone.
Looks like you have to install them in the LP flush mounts, don't know how the LP's look on the bike. Does anyone here have them ?
The Greggs look sweet but I want the one's that have two colors and Greggs are only amber.
Does anyone know if the blue running lights are illigal in Ca.
