so just like everyone else that has seen the new R1, I just really would like to complete the projector mod. Please bear with me b/c i dont know to much about this subject but can i do the projector mod with out the HID kit or what? I know that doesnt make to much sence but I dont see my self keeping this one much longer before I get a new one (and dont what to start a wiring project:cuss) but really just want that look with out spending lots of $$$. So guys let me get some feedback and what not thanks!:drink

The only way it would work is If you use R6s projectors or H7 valeo projectors. It won't work with OEM projectors. That would be like asking for an R1 with an R6 engine.

The OEM projectors (infiniti, lexus, acura, etc..) that people are using for their mods use D2S bulbs. These bulbs are powered by ignitors and ballasts. In other words the projectors use different bulbs than the stock (H7) on our bikes. I have not seen any adapters that will make them fit either. So you have to do a little wiring if you use OEM projectors due to the fact that they use HID D2S bulbs. You could probably make a custom adapter for H7 bulbs to fit but it would be more trouble than what its worth in my opinion.

those are great but it doesnt have be dual but is there any one making them?? i really just looking for plug and play.

Tripage will hook you up with the build if you send him the projectors and headlights... just pm him and he will explain everything. it cost about 60 bucks an hour for labor.

tripage, you wanna put together a clean-installing-kit for us "i'd rather pay than figure it out myself" types?? :)

We would have to have to get ahold of a headlight and projectors to put something together. If anyone is willing to donate we can work out a deal and maybe sell the side pieces with the led's installed and brackets to install the projectors. Can't make any promises. We try to make the installs we sell as easy as possible. T

i made the license plate bracket..used the plasma cam at my high school to cut out the design and then welded the two peices together.. used LED bolts for lights so its all legit..

Don't know how the cops are out your way but they would be all over that here in CT. I have friends that were pulled over for having the plate mounted that way. My buddy's zx6 didn't have a bracket at all so he put it off the side of the swing arm. He got a ticket and the dealer was the one that mounted the plate. Just a heads up

i live out in the cuts in northern cali.. i took it to the chp station and they said its fine as long as its visible from 50 ft.. the only thing they said i might wanna change is the smoked out tail light and the red leds in my pegs.. they are supposed to be amber unless the brake light and turn signals are the same lights..
