I used a hair dryer - the heat loosens the adhesive/stickers. Then I had to use rubbing alcohol to get the last bit of residue off - took a little time, but well worth it!

I found the best way is to take a blow torch, open the gas cap, stick the torch in there and let it heat up the underside of the label, then hit from the top with the torch and then slowly peel it up from one of the corners......

j/k

whatever you do, just be careful, real careful with any heat source around you gas tank. its the fumes that ignite, not the liquid gas itself....

ya keep the flame away from the gas. use a low heat blow dryer and just work it like the guys above said. if theres gooey stuff left on there use some alcohol or nail polish remover to get it off.

i used a hair dryer like most of you to remove the decal. i used something different for the sticky adhesive, WD-40. yes it works wonders on that gummy stuff. it doesnt affect the paint like a paint thinner. i just sprayed it on a rag and rubbed the adhesive away.

Yeah, all the guys are right on as far as using a "hair dryer"! Use some caution if using an actual "heat gun" they produce WAY more heat than needed.

Also..........stoneloco is right on about WD-40, the other two guys above him are homosexuals and often plug goat ass and.........well, just take stone's and my word, use WD-40. Plus.......I would bet you'd be too scared to use a mineral spirit on your precious paint anyhow :hammer

Another good agent to use is Goo-Gone...on a wrag like stonerboy says, ad rub carefully and sensually. LOL :stupic

dont listen to them, just get 3M Adhesive remover, spray that ish on that sticker, let it sit for a few minutes, and the damn thing will FALL right off.

i use 3M Adhesive remoer to unbadge my cars, it works wonders.

why buy an adhesive remover for just that purpose. how often are you gonna remove decals? why not buy a multi-use product like wd-40. its great for all kinds of things like lubing your locks and stuff, cleaning your chain, etc.......

please note i am not an employee of wd-40 nor a stockholder(i should be though). this is not an adverstisement or plug for wd-40.

If you have a wife just let her do it, Worked for me. I just sat back drinking a corona starring at my new bike while she took them off. She had a hell of a time too, took about an hour.

You can use gas to get the sticky stuff off also.

i like his idea, let the wife or girlfriend do it. as for usin gas i wouldnt do that it will actually screw up your paint a little.

Take a hair dryer or heat gun warm it up for just a minute, then you just peel it off. And there won't even be any residue to clean off.

BTW, I stronly suggest using the cold fusion blow torch with the negative reacting zener diode if heating from the inside!
