: My times @ SGMP
Geoff 01-04-2009, 06:21 AM ran my first 1/4 with the bike, not what i normally run in the 1/8, so a little disappointed in my times. i run the 1/8 3-4 tenths quicker than what i ran up there, but it was my first time running the 1/4 mile.
my best 1/8 here at Breakaway is 7.1 @ 105 mph and normally run around 7.2's
well here is my best time slip:
07 R6 every thing stock except for -1 front tooth and a T-Tuner
2.03 60' i normally pull a 1.8 60'
5.07 330 i normally pull a 4.8 - 4.9
7.43 1/8--7.2 normally
11.22 @ 128 mph 1/4 ---- i really think it would gotten in the 10's

DarkFeather05 01-04-2009, 12:26 PM still looks like you cut a decent time. first time out the 1/4 mile is a bit intimidating. How many passes did you get in though? usually the last pass is the best pass. was the front coming up on you at all since i noticed youre not strapped or anything.
when i ran my zx-10 for the first time on the strip my first run was a 10.7!!! and i ended up dipping into the 9's before i left. which i should have been from the beginning. oh well the zx10>hayabusa, ftw.
btw those other bikes probably made decent time too, know what they ran?
geneelder 01-04-2009, 06:05 PM shit. i would be ok with an 11.2. Keep in mind that every track preps the surface different, so it is much different launching at each track. Thats why normally the runs get better as the night goes on. Keep up the good work.
Geoff 01-04-2009, 07:45 PM i run 1/8 mile all the time, but it has been months sense my last race.
my runs went from this:
11.4 wheelie at top 1st and into 2nd
12.0 bogged on the line
11.3 wheelie off the line
11.2 wheelie off the line
the track was prepped very good, they had racing, grudge racing and top eliminations going on, the fasted bike there was a zx-14 turbo 7.80's
the other bikes i took pics of were running 8's
Geoff 01-04-2009, 07:47 PM here are some pics of a few cars that were there

Geoff 01-04-2009, 07:53 PM the next time i go, i will have the following mods:
PCIII, Slip-on, lower the bike and maybe +3 in rear or just buy another front sprocket a 15 tooth "just easier to do" would only be for the track days
kbrok 01-07-2009, 10:24 PM good job on the runs man those are some good times without being strapped or stretched
1quik08r6 01-07-2009, 10:35 PM very good times for not being lowered/stretched. i still havnt run mine since i slammed and stretched it but im hoping for mid, possibly low 10s.
my race mods are full exhaust, pcIII, bmc filter, modified airbox, lowered 2 in front, 3.5 in rear, stretched 6", shinko soft rear tire, -1 +2 Sprockets & 520 chain
Geoff 01-08-2009, 04:34 PM yeah, the mods i plan are just going to be the PCIII, BMC air filter, and a slip-on. and then regear just for the track, and then lower it. and then thats it, i should diff. be in the 10's then
Geoff 01-08-2009, 04:35 PM BTW, thanks guys for the comments, now i can lift my head up ;) i am very disappointed in my 1/8 mile times that day
Nukedog 01-19-2009, 04:06 PM Your buddy Patrick is trying to organize a rental at Valdosta. Tell him a guy on a R6S wants to pick on his 10R...LOL
Geoff 01-20-2009, 03:23 AM yeah, i think it will be on march 3rd i think, $100 per person minimum of 25 people, not to bad i guess, at least you would get more than just 4 runs in.
him and i are a really good race, and mine is stock. whats done to yours?
oh BTW you can tell him your self by joining out website :) lol www.moto850.net hope to see you on there

Geoff 01-21-2009, 05:40 AM Nukedog, were you there at the track a few weeks ago?
Nukedog 01-25-2009, 06:48 PM Nukedog, were you there at the track a few weeks ago?
Nope - i was supposed to go but funds were short. I may be up at SGMP this coming Sat...
Geoff 01-26-2009, 04:53 PM why not go on the track rental day that Patrick is setting up?
i might be there, and i will have a few mods then.. i hope :) lol
redisdeadrideblue 01-27-2009, 01:16 PM i run 1/8 mile all the time, but it has been months sense my last race.

looks like you're right there.... you may need just a little bit of work on the old clutch hand. You have the right idea though. If you are deep staging, you can probably cut a couple tenths by going shallow, but your rt will probably slip.
A little piece of advice: Forget the crap about 1/4mile vs. 1/8 mile, which lane is best, is the track perfect, how is this track compared to that one... Focus is key. Have a mission. See it before you do it. You really dont have a hell of a lot of time to think about anything during your run, so put everything else out of your mind (food, your girl, your car, whatever). If you can develop that mental ability, you will be much better off should you decide to get serious with bracket racing.
Nukedog 01-27-2009, 06:08 PM why not go on the track rental day that Patrick is setting up?
i might be there, and i will have a few mods then.. i hope :) lol
I may do that. He hasn't generated much interest on the Busa board. Are any of your locals going up? I would like to run a few times on my Turbo Busa and the R6S...
Geoff 01-30-2009, 02:54 AM it hasn't been talked about all to much on our 850 forum, but he did have to have minimum of 25 to even hold it and the money up front, it cost $2500 to rent the track, both lanes per day and that cover track prep and everything, and every other bike is still $100, basically $100 per rider or bike, so if you bring 2 bikes you may have to pay $200, i'm not really sure.
you can always ask him on the Busa forum or come check us out on our site :)
