: What does your fender eliminator look like?

I'm still trying to decide on which one I want to get.

If you have, could you post pics of yours and where you got it?

Blank out your license plate please, we don't want those posted all over the web. :P

This is the nicest one I've found so far:

http://secure.compwerkes.com/Detail.bok?no=306

What I'm looking for is one that has the license plate tucked up near the rear shock, as far as it will go. I don't like how it is at the very back like this one:

http://secure.compwerkes.com/Detail.bok?no=290

Anyone have any feedback on Comp Werkes? Or any other ones you recommend?

Thanks in advance also :)

Keep in mind, if a cop gets behind you, and cant see your plate, he will pull you over. Im putting mine in the legal spot just under the tail light.

yea, i'll try and put it where he can see it but I don't want it way up there :x

How about this one? Anyone familiar with HotBodies? I found it in a Site Sponsors site but its 50$ more and looks kinda cheap..?

Im ordering one that goes in the location where the stock " mud guard" goes, no questions, thats the rear most point at which i can put it. I dont want ANY attention from the popo.

Here is mine....and no the cops don't like it but normally I just tell them that I have the parts on order to fix it, depending if I have told that cop that or not :D

that's exactly where i put mine. totally illegal in tx, b/c the inspection is actually stuck on the back of the plate. :D but i've been pulled over 3 times (2 warnings, and then a ticket) and NONE of them have said anything about it. prolly not up to date on motorcycle laws as well as they should be. oh well...

it's a fix-it ticket anyways. $10 and prove you fixed it. i'm willing to risk that. (what it is in tx, at least)

yeah....here in FL it is a $1124 fine for an improperly displayed tag....and the only cops that has ever said anythin are the ones in the SUVs. I was followed by a state trooper for a while, in a Charger, but was never pulled over...he even waved at me when he passed by :lmao

$1100?! damn! F that... i WOULDN'T risk that. but for a $10 fix-it ticket... the clean look is worth it.

I thought in FL if your plate is not in the stock area and if it can move it's like a thousand dollar fine? I guess there not strictly inforced as i read in 2 wheel tuner? If so that is a pretty steep fine for just a plate lol

yeah the same amount for getting caught with your tires losing contact with the ground...I hate the anti-biker laws that FL passed. I still see Harleys with the swing arm plates....and that is illegal (has to be parallel with the ground)

Yeah, i'll be doing enough other shit on the bike, dont want to attract other un-needed attention. I will be getting this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=350143105871

Price is right, has everything, looks good to me :-) Might even put a piece of reflective plastic behind the R6 symbol to count for my rear felector ( require in the state of maine, but nobody has them ) i just dont want my chops busted by the first ego tripped cop of the season.

they do enforce the license plate laws in FL pretty strictly. Especially during events and such like bike week and biketoberfest!!! They know out of towners aren't going to come back down for court, so they just collected $1100 for every chopper that entered!!! LOL its not really that bad. just don't hide it and ur fine. I even had a nice cop give me a break on a ticket this morning. i was doin 23 over and he knocked it down to 9 over. he was a bike cop. he was actually pretty cool for a cop.

All I have on mine is a custom fabricated metal bracket that screws into the stock holes of an 01 Tail Section. It looks clean, its up so the police can see it and I have never had any problems.

As for the wheel leaving the ground law, all I can say is weak!!

i used the comp-worx LE one.

I then cut the big bracket off that made it mount to the rear hugger. I turned it upside down drilled two holes on the hinge, centered it on the black part right in front of the undertail 'so real close to the rear shock'

Mounted it so that the hinge swung toward the front of the bike.

I then glued a magnet to the bottom side of the frame and took a small metal plate and mounted to the back side of the fender eliminator.

So its L.P/Fender Eliminator/Small metal square.

So you see when in a time of need of say those pesky ez tag booths, or certain ON LOOKERS trying to ruin my day of ridding, U reach down, give a little flick and BAM she flips up and stays in place till i push it down.

I had that exact same one but every once in while if i hit a big enough bump, the tire would come into contact with the license plate and it eventually broke. now that my bike is stretched, i just mounted the tag in the rear tire hugger(cant do it if its not stretched, not enough room) its visible and ive had luck with it.

something like that is exactly what i want.

where did you get it? any negatives with it?

and, I'm not trying to "hide" it from the cops, I don't speed in my bike unless i'm with a huge group and we're on the interstate.

and I have one spot that i go to late at night where the stunters meet, and the cops come up there but don't really care.

benefits of hawaii cops

i have the same bike, stretched, was also thinking about mounting it on the rear hugger and it is visible in every position you look at it from behind but i live in florida will i have a problem with the cops because the plate isnt mounted at the FURTHEST point or because the plate is behind the rear wheel?

I didn't buy it...it is a free mod. :D

The two plastic body rivets in that spot are perfectly spaced out to fit the plate. just pull them out, put the plate in the spot and put the rivets back in. You can bend it down like I have done to make it a bit more visable if you want.

no real negatives...I got a speeding ticket once with it in that spot and he said nothing about it.

Straight gangsta son. lol. I'm from SC and have never had a cop say anything even when riding behind me. I get it from my friends all the time. "oh, your gonna get pulled for that". But IMO the cops around where i live have better things to do than waste their time for a plate violation. I got this kit off ebay from i believe bikelightz. It has three leds that light the plate up (wired into my factory harness). They look badass at night. One led lights up the plate, and the other two put halos around my feet. I t provides extra visibility to cagers at night as well. I'll get some night pics up asap.

Sweet. I also ran a switch to cut the leds off during the day. The whole setup was under 40.00, so i imagine the leds cant be top notch and i don't want them burning out. Plus it helps with those 421 MPH runs from the cops!

i didn't think about runin a switch for the leds but that's a good idea....looks like i have something to do this weekend now

I have one of the Comp Werkes and I like it just fine. It is the undertail one, but I flip mine around compared to how they install it, because I wanted it to hide the wiring. I also have a undertail fender eliminator that is brand new for sale.. Check out the link below for sale thread..

I like it better the way they built it to go, but I have light n'bolts and the wires just looked tacky running around the front of the plate, but the thing is nice, and I can't complain because I got mine for $30 shipped..:D

You live in Maine. Thats like the size of houston. How can you not know all the cops??

lol
Yeah its illegal, but so is the way I ride half the time anyways.
99% of the aftermarket stuff you throw on these things make it illegal anyways so might as well go all the way.

thank you.
