I installed my Power Commander 3 several weeks back and I could feel the difference in my bike. Before that, i was running lean. Now with this change, I could feel a smoother band along the midrange and high ends! The low ends are still a bit damp though.
It wasn't that hard to install either. I just removed the seats, lifted the tank and pulled and plugged some connectors. WALLA!! It was pretty simple and easy. The dyno's were already preprogrammed by the company where I bought it from (pipecity.com--cool crew).
If you changed your stock pipe, I would consider the PC3 a pretty good investment. They run about $300, but I think they are worth it.
Just my 2 centavos! :hammer

Love my Power Commander III usb. My 04 pulls cleaner from a stop and no more irritating backlash from off throttle.
Installation was a breeze, only gotcha is if you have an Ohlins Stering damper. You will need to remove the Damper to lift the tank. You will need a 36mm socket and a friend later to reinstall. The reason you will need a friend to reinstall is because with the Ohlins Damper, it is bolted on top of stem bolt. When you tighten to specs the bracket tends to move to the left and not centered. The problem with that is you need the bracket centered to get full rotation on the damper. Without the Damper it took me 10-15 minutes.
FYI the map I needed was included in the CD. I have Micron Slip on with Stock Filter. The CD includes most of the common maps that can be found on the website. So for those that don't have internet at home use the CD. Mapping took less than a minute if you are computer literate. Just select a map to open then save. You need to have the bike running to download the map to the PCIII at least for my particular model.
The hardest part was trying to locate the harness buried below the tank and disconecting without breaking anything. Should be easy self installation. Don't be intimidated by lifting the tank for installation. You can save the money you'd pay for installation on other upgrades.
