Should I change my oil before the 600 mark or should I just wait till then??? Cuz i don't really want all that metal in my stuff. I was just wondering I thought I over heard someone say they changed it at 200 400 600 and 1000. I was just wondering if this made a difference or if i should just stick to what the dealer told me??????

Thanks

I changed it at 28 miles, 600 miles, then to synthetic at 1000. Again at 4k.

Since the rebuild I am running a synthetic blend, and will be changing it ever other race weekend.

u can switch to synthetic at 600, it wont hurt anything. but yes u need to change the oil after a good rockyr6 type of breakin cycle. if u dont know what that is, do a search for breakin cycle and look at what he says cause its the best way ive heard to do it.

you talkin about the type of break in where you run the piss out of it for the first couple hundred miles??? I heard about it but never read anything about it. But i did find this article

tell me if this is what your takin about. i did run the shit out of it the first day i put like 130 miles on it hahaha. i couldnt resist rippin it a bunch of times. i guess i unintentionally did myself a favor. thanks for the info loki. i think i'll stop by the store on the way home and pick up some oil.

Hey rsixxer, i think you might of overherd one of my posts cause i think there are like three posts going around on break-in opinions. I chanaged the oil at 200, 400, 600,& 1000 because i ran the motor a little harder than what was "suggested" The manufacturer suggests keeping it under like 7000rpm or something like that for the first 500 miles, but i eventually ran it up to 13 before the service(check the other thread for the detailed description). I just changed the oil to make sure there was no metal in my oil...but in the end its up to you on how you break in your motor, Oh yeah, I also switched to synthetic oil at 1000 miles.

i was just lookin through some articles and some threads tryin to get an idea of exactly when to change the oil cuz i have heard a lot of different things being done and just wanted to see what others had done or had to say. I ran it pretty hard this weekend so I think i'm going to change the oil sometime within the next 50 miles or so and that will be about 200-215. But I appreciate your imput.
