REVIEW: GREGGS CUSTOM FLUSH MOUNTS (2004 R6) www.greggscustoms.com CUSTOMER SERVICE: Greggs doesn’t sell directly to you, so they have links to their various distributors on the East and West Coast. I ended up ordering from the East Coast distributor (McCoy’s) because they were helpful on the phone. I first ordered from a place called breaklites.com, and the service there was horrible. The guy on the phone was rude, and they didn’t even tell me that my product wasn’t even in stock. They just figured they’d send it to me whenever it got to them. I ended up trying to cancel my order with them, but those bastards still charged me, and I still haven’t got the lights from them. Once I get them, I’ll be returning those suckers back to breaklites.com. McCoy’s got the lights to me pretty damn quick. I highly recommend them if you want parts for your bike. LOOKS: Completely flush with the fairing. No drilling required whatsoever. The bracket that holds the light in place is made of aluminum and is completely flush with fairing. It comes in whatever color you specify. The light itself doesn’t stick out too much and the bulb color is orange/amber. It’s an LED light, so when it blinks, it’s nice and bright. You can’t see it as well as the stock lights from the front when it’s blinking, but you can still see it blinking anyway. It’s definitely brighter than the stock light, though. The bulb itself is a round circle like a large marble. Here is a link to a picture of the flush mount (not blinking): http://www.greggscustoms.com/pics/22.jpg QUALITY: Great quality. It’s not flimsy at all. It comes in decent packaging and doesn’t look like some guy made it in his garage and then sent the sucker out. Fits perfectly into the hole left by removing the stock lights. EASE OF INSTALLATION: This is where I have a major gripe with the folks at Greggs. I’m a damn retard when it comes to installing shit, so when the package came with the flush mounts, I was expecting detailed instructions. There weren’t any instructions at all. I went online to download instructions, and the crap they put up for instructions was ridiculous: 1. remove fairing. 2. remove stock lights. 3. install greggs flush mount. It was literally that bad. Plus, I think you have to do some sort of soldering and what not. All I know is that I took a look at the 3 wires of the stock light, and the 2 wires of the greggs flush mount, and then I took them all over to the bike shop (Mach 1 in Newport Beach - great place. I highly recommend them). The rear turn signals were easy because there were 2 wires from the stock and 2 wires from the aftermarket turn signal. But that 3 wire/2 wire business is way too confusing for me. PRICE: Holy crap, I couldn’t believe flush mounts could cost that much. 110 dollars, American. Are they worth the price? I don’t know, but they’re definitely better than any other flush mount that I’ve come across. I don’t want my bike to have the ones that stick out too badly or ones that look like areolas. But it’s my baby, and I wanted nothing but the best for her, so I paid the 110 to get them. OTHER ISSUES: You won’t have front running lights anymore with the greggs custom flush mounts. That 3rd wire is the running light wire, and since the greggs only has two, you’re SOL if you want a running light with the greggs. OVERALL: Quality and looks are top notch. I don’t think I can find another flush mount that can match greggs in that category. The LED’s are brighter than any other flush mount I’ve seen too. My gripes: you can’t see the lights too much from the front, so I’m worried about stupid California drivers not catching my turn signal in their rear view mirror. If they made them a little bigger, I think I would have liked them a lot better since you could probably seem them better from the front. Instructions are non-existent. Unless you’re into this type of electrical soldering, stripping business, the instructions are useless. Price. 110 dollars? Damn, that’s steep, and it’s debatable if it’s worth it. Up to you on this one. For me, though, I’d pay it. My final opinion is that they’re probably one of the best flush mounts around, and I’d buy them again (if I had the cash next time around).

Just a note to Ed's excellent and accurate review. You can wire the Gregs Customs to be running lights AND blinkers, you just need to add a relay. I threw a diagram up here with what I did. Works great and looks great. http://r6-forum.com/nuke/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1638&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

Problem: I have the flush mounts and installed a clear alternatives tail light w/o resistors. Now my flushmounts in the front light up at the same time?!! Though the properly activated signal is always brighter than the opposite. Go figure that one out!

My Gregg's came with 3 wires. Running light, Turn Signal and GND. I left the running out anyway.
